Goat Yoga went home, as expected. But with this sudden death race-off at the end of the leg, several teams that were in a fine position got knocked much lower, especially Henry & Evan. I was super confident in them, but because they lost so many races, they are now one of the last teams to leave the mat, so they could be in some danger. We saw Cedric & Shawn redeem themselves greatly, and Cody & Jessica came out on top (yay), so let’s rank.
9. Eric & Daniel (Twin Brothers)- These poor guys. They’re really strong physically, but they are not very bright. It really showed when they had to choose between diamond weighing and printing, and neither of the tasks helped them in any way. If they have another challenge involving brains (which there almost always is), then they’re going to struggle big time.
8. Joey & Tim (Competitive Eaters)- They are making their way slowly and steadily, but I still don’t think they’re top dogs. They’ve been doing fine, but haven’t stood out at all for me.
7. Henry & Evan (Dating Debaters)- I’m super mixed on these two. I loved watching them in leg one, but the competition was very tough for them in week two. Neither of them could outrace the other teams, and not for nothing, but there were teams faster than them in the brain challenges too. I think they have lots of potential, which I admire, but this week set them back a lot, and if there’s another super physical challenge, they may end up near the bottom again…even eliminated.
6. Lucas & Brittany (Dating Lifeguards)- We see very little of them each week. I really don’t have a firm judgement on them until I see more of them. My worry is that they’re a strong team that has one slip up and ends up going home. Their edit just doesn’t scream “winner” to me, let alone finalist.
5. Alexander & Conor (IndyCar Drivers)- They finished in the same place both weeks: 5th. So that’s where I’m gonna keep them till they either screw up or hit a stride. Otherwise, they’re cruising down the middle.
4. Cedric & Shawn (Former NBA Players)- They needed some redemption from a disastrous first leg, and they got it. Had they not lost against Jody in the race, they would’ve been winners of the leg. That’s pretty awesome. There may be an injury coming their way by looks of the preview, so I’m not putting them in the top 3, BUT, I think they’re ahead enough where it shouldn’t eliminate them right away. Ask me again next week.
3. Trevor & Chris (Violinists)- The Violinists also finished 4th both legs, so I’d normally keep them there, but Cedric’s possible injury pushes them up a notch into the top 3! Yay!
2. Kristi & Jen (Professional Skiers)- These ladies are right up at the top with Jody, the Violinists, and the NBA players. They’ve proven themselves twice now and should continue to coast along at the top.
1. Cody & Jessica (Newly Dating)- They’re back at the top for me. Although they weren’t the first team to the pit stop, Cody is an unstoppable force when it comes to the physical challenge. He beat out two NBA stars in a race. Top dogs for sure.
So I think the top 5 are all pretty safe, unless Cedric’s injury really is that bad. But I think the contention to go home is definitely between the firefighters, the Eaters, and unfortunately the Debaters. But don’t count out the Lifeguards, who could easily get lost in the shuffle.
