Top Chef S15 Power Rankings (Top 11, Again)

Jan 11, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageSo Lee Anne AND Claudette are back, which is pretty cool. But I was rooting for Kwame, so I hope he gets another chance in another season. Tu is gone, which was a long time coming, and Bruce finally redeemed himself. Meanwhile, Chris, who topped my leaderboard, got in some danger for his chill dish. So it really is anyone’s game. Let’s rank.

11. Joseph Flamm- Joseph really hasn’t been doing very well in the challenges. Quickfires are so-so for him, but in terms of eliminations, he hasn’t impressed, and has yet to be on top for a challenge. Out of everyone left, he’s probably the safest bet for an elimination, so I’ll put him in the bottom spot right now.

10. Adrienne Cheatham- Adrienne isn’t in the bottom anymore, but she really isn’t on top. I haven’t been blown away yet, and with two strong chefs coming back, she’s probably the weakest lady left.

9. Tanya Holland- Tanya did exactly what I expected. When she’s comfortable, she excels. But when she was out of her element, she crumbled. In Top Chef, you have to be able to handle pressure, and Tanya proved that twice (in the Denver omelette challenge, and this challenge) she hasn’t been able to take surprise twists and turns. Give her comfort and she’s great…but going forward, it’s just gonna get tougher and more “out of the box.”

8. Christopher Scott- Poor Chris really sank to the bottom. I think he’ll be fine in the long run, and knows exactly what mistakes he’s made. But this is the second time that Chris has ended up on the bottom, so while he really kills it in the kitchen, he’s been on the bottom more than most. I put him low on the rankings for good reason, but I still think he’ll be fine in the long run.

7. Brother Luck- Brother makes some good food and gets no recognition. But when he makes bad food, he doesn’t ever end up in the bottom. The only week he ended up in the bottom, he had immunity. So Brother is a wild card, but I think he’s right in the middle of the pack right now.

6. Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins- Claudette never blew me away before, but she had some great food at Last Chance Kitchen. I can’t wait to see what she cooks, because I think she could be a surprise pick to go deep now.

5. Joe Sasto- Joe took a break from his dominance this week. He should remain safe, for he’s done a solid job up till this point.

4. Bruce Kalman- Bruce finally impressed. I think this was a breakthrough week for him, and this could push him into contender status. We shall see.

3. Lee Anne Wong- She is the only veteran competing in the main competition this year, and she has already been impressing the judges. I think she’ll be able to go deep in the competition. The teaser shows that she may have some pregnancy illnesses, but I don’t see that stopping her from staying in the game. She’s a contender.

2. Fatima Ali- Fatima is not only one of the best chefs here, but also one of the most entertaining and enjoyable to watch. She was hilarious in this episode, but still nailed the dish she made. Impressive as hell. I can’t wait to see her finally win one. Let’s hope it’s soon.

1. Carrie Baird- Carrie gets the top spot for me. Just when I was doubting her, she came through with an incredible dish. She didn’t win, but was clearly the most impressive in the camping challenge. The way she handled the elements, helped others, and still delivered on flavor, while keeping it personal to her and her roots. She had a perfect week in my eyes, and despite not getting the actual win for the week, she won in my book.

Claudette and Lee Anne are good returnees, and should be fine, while Fatima, Joe, Carrie, and Bruce should stay at the top. Tanya and Chris took the biggest dips, but still seem okay, as does Brother who is coasting down the middle. I think it’s between Adrienne and Joseph, and one of them just seems the most invisible to me.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Joseph Flamm
