The Amazing Race S30 Power Rankings (Top 10)

Jan 10, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageWe’re back with some amazing racers, and this season is shaping up to be a good one. With these new competitions this week, I have no clue how it will shape up, but here are the rankings of our final 10 (also, props to me for predicted the models’ elimination, but I will admit, it was super close).

10. April & Sarah (Goat Yoga Moms)- These ladies are already in the back of the pack. They don’t get along very well. And they are physically the weakest of the bunch. I don’t see them going much further than this, and the fact that their edit has been predominantly negative, I don’t think they’re an underdog team.

9. Cedric & Shawn (Former NBA Players)- These poor guys had a rough first leg. Like, SUPER rough. But they are NBA players, and should be able to bounce back when it comes to physical challenges. They obviously struggled on the mental side of things, which will eventually be their downfall. They’re holding on for dear life, and this week will likely determine whether they stay at the bottom or not.

8. Joey & Tim (Competitive Eaters)- These guys are entertaining to watch, but just not made to be contenders in this race. I give them another leg or two, but after that, it’ll be hard for them to bounce back.

7. Eric & Daniel (Twin Brothers)- They’re made out to be the best team here, but they seemed to fade in the background this premiere episode. I think we’ll see more of them, but the question is “for how long?”

6. Alexander & Conor (IndyCar Drivers)- They rock at the physical stuff, but like the NBA players, they REALLY struggled when it came to the mental competition. They really need to improve on the puzzles and mind competitors, otherwise, they’ll only be able to make it midway.

5. Trevor & Chris (Violinists)- These guys are muscular as hell for people who don’t participate in an athletic field. I’m impressed by them and hope to see them go pretty far. They weren’t heavily featured on the episode, but they had enough of an edit to keep them as possible contenders here.

4. Lucas & Brittany (Dating Lifeguards)- We saw very little of them, but the fact that Lucas wants to propose on the race means they’ll probably be in it for a while. If not making the finale, right now I have them just getting to the semi-finals. We’ll see though. Right now, I don’t have a very good read on them, but I’m sure they’ll emerge more once the competition dwindles down.

3. Henry & Evan (Dating Debaters)- I thought these two were destined to be an early elimination, but they really shocked me. They may be the biggest surprise of the season for me, and aside from Team Big Brother, I think I’m rooting for them to be in the finale alongside them. An awesome first week for the Dating Debaters, and I hope we see a lot more of them.

2. Cody & Jessica (Newly Dating)- Jody rocked it. Until the end, when Cody took over. I think they’ll learn from it, but if they don’t, there’s no way they win it. Cody needs to listen to Jessica, and Jessica needs to find a voice. I still think they can win it (in fact, they are still my pick to win), but it’ll be much easier for them to win it if they learn from this mistake.

1. Kristi & Jen (Professional Skiers)- They’re likable, competitive, and they won the first leg. That has to be worth something. Usually, teams who win the first leg sometimes falter toward the end, so I don’t know if they’ll win it all, but it would be pretty awesome to see an all-female team win this historic 30th season, and right now, they’ve got a good shot.

There are contenders, there are pretenders, and then there’s the Goat Yoga gals. I don’t think they’ll be “BAAAAA”ck for next episode.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- April & Sarah
