Top Chef S15 Power Rankings (Top 12)

imageSo, in a special twist, one of the Last Chance Kitchen returnees will return MIDWAY through the competition. It’s between veterans Kwame Onwuachi from season 13 and Lee Anne Wong from the first season, as well as Claudette from this season. One of the three will return, and get a chance to win the whole season. I’m putting my bets on Kwame. As for who else goes home, we’ll find out shortly. Let’s rank.

12. Tu David Phu- Tu is the most consistent one this season… consistently on the bottom. Last week, I felt especially bad because he had poured so much heart and soul into his dish, only for it to be a pretty bad showing. Poor Tu. If he doesn’t hit his stride, he’ll be next to go.

11. Joseph Flamm- Joseph, like Tu, poured a lot of heart and soul into his dish but didn’t do a very good job. Joseph is someone who showed lots of potential early on, but as the competition heats up, I feel like people like Tu and Joseph are going in the opposite direction of everyone else. I genuinely like Joseph and think he could do well, but he’s one of the weaker ones right now.

10. Bruce Kalman- Bruce is one of the most heavily featured ones this season, but he hasn’t performed very well in challenges. He seems to have a very personal reason for being there, but I feel like his story is overshadowing his food, and sooner or later, the subpar food will send him home.

9. Adrienne Cheatham- Adrienne was consistently on the bottom, but had a big showing in the Quickfire. I think Adrienne needed that moment, and I don’t think she’ll be on the bottom for a little while. She still isn’t guaranteed to be safe, but I think this was an important week for her.

8. Carrie Baird- Carrie is doing a great job, but aside from her win in week 2, she hasn’t really been showcased very much. She’s been hanging in there just fine, but I’m really waiting for Carrie to truly emerge as a contender.

6/7. Last Chance Kitchen Winner(s)- I don’t know if this will be Kwame, Lee Ann, or Claudette, but I don’t think any of the three of them go home. Kwame and Lee Ann are seasoned vets, and Claudette has really proved herself in Last Chance Kitchen, so I think they stay safe, whoever “they” may be.

5. Tanya Holland- I wasn’t blown away by Tanya’s gumbo, but the judges surely were. I think she’s so classic that I still don’t know if EVERY challenge will cater to her. But so far, she’s been hitting it out of the park, and should be safe.

4. Brother Luck- Brother had one of the best dishes, but the judges could only put three people in the top 3. I wish Brother had placed in the top, because his story and food truly made me root for him. Looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more Brother.

3. Fatima Ali- Fatima keeps staying consistent and on top. She’ll keep sailing right up here at the top until she ends up on the bottom (if she ever does, honestly).

2. Joe Sasto- Joe is one of the most recognizable in both appearance and food. His food is stellar, and he’s a fun guy to watch. Joe had another awesome week this week, and I think he’ll continue to do well now that he’s hit his stride.

1. Christopher Scott- Chris dominated this week. I knew from the second he said he was making fried chicken that it was going to be a knockout. There was just such a perfection to the entire dish, and Christopher’s message and story were truly something to root for. This guy is the real deal.

Everyone has had a moment to shine. Unfortunately for Tu, his moment to shine was in the very first quick fire, and he hasn’t had a good dish since.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Tu David Phu
