Survivor S35 Power Rankings (Top 9)

Nov 27, 2017 by PowerRankings101
imageI was right that Cole would go home, but didn’t think Dr. Mike would play his idol in that fashion. It didn’t work for Dr. Mike, but maybe he just played it to ensure his safety. Meanwhile, Ben is getting lots of heat for heading this “Round Table” esque alliance of 7, Ryan is getting too comfortable and is making more enemies than allies with his loose lips, and Ashley and Chrissy are hitting their all time maximum tolerance level with Joe. The only ones who don’t seem to be in any danger are the top three in this ranking, so let’s see how this DOUBLE ELIMINATION week will go.

9. Joe Mena- Joe may survive one tribal, but surviving two tribals may be tricky. Unlike Mike, Joe hasn’t made any positive relationships with anyone in the Round Table, and I think it will come back to bite him. He’s on an island of his own, but if he can find an idol or somehow Ashley has a change of heart, Joe may be able to survive the night. But it is going to take a lot to do it.

8. Ben Driebergen- This double episode is definitely hinting a blindside. Ben seems like the perfect candidate for a blindside. He has been portrayed as the leader of this mass alliance, and if people like Chrissy or Ryan see that, they may take a stab at him. He’s a big threat. He’s pretty likable (though he has his enemies). He’s also in lots of control. This would be the opportunity to strike at Ben, and if Joe or Mike finds another idol, Ben is the one who may get the votes.

7. Ryan Ulrich- Ryan made a big mistake, showing his idol to both Devon and Ben. Now, he has an enemy in Devon, who was his top ally. Ryan messed up. How he recovers will show how he fares for the rest of the game. But the question isn’t going to be how he recovers, but if he’ll even have the chance to recover, or if he’ll be blindsided before he can recognize his mistakes?

6. Mike Zahalsky- Mike may have made a bad move, but perhaps he was just doing it to make sure he survived the night. His vote to Cole proved his loyalty to his friends Lauren and Ben. If Mike makes enough friendships, I think Mike could arise as a swing vote rather than a target. He doesn’t have an idol anymore, so he isn’t really a threat to anyone. Playing his idol may seem dumb, but it may have secured him a lot more time on the island.

5. Chrissy Hofbeck- Chrissy should be safe this week since every time she’s been on the chopping block, the votes have been on her side. I think Chrissy has a tight bond with Ryan still, has JP in her back pocket, and seems tight with Ben and Ashley. The only thing working against Chrissy would be her mouth. Her and Ashley seem to be the most vocal, and between the two of them, Chrissy is the bigger strategic threat.

4. Ashley Nolan- Ashley has been called a goat. Maybe she is. She certainly hasn’t shown any strategic gameplay to suggest otherwise. Ashley has two options. She can play the “goat” role and sail to the final three. The consequence: she doesn’t get any votes to win. Her other option is to start playing and prove she’s not a goat. The consequence: she may play the game too hard. It seems that either scenario leaves Ashley just short of the win. That’s why she doesn’t crack my top 3.

3. Lauren Rimmer- Lauren is set up to be wildly successful, but because Ben is so vocal, I sometimes worry that she may be guilty be association. Otherwise, she’s doing everything right and should be safe this week. Having that extra vote is also super helpful.

2. JP Hilsabeck- JP’s BFF Ashley may be pegged as the goat. But let’s be real. Everyone wants to bring JP to the end. He wins rewards for you, he votes your way, and he doesn’t speak. If he goes home this week, the contestants will have royally messed up.

1. Devon Pinto- Devon is running the game right now, having positive relationships with pretty much everyone, and an especially tight relationship with Ben and Ashley (and even Ryan, though Devon is more apprehensive on Ryan at the moment). I think everyone likes Devon, but they also underestimate him. Devon knows how to navigate this game, and knows who he can trust and who the big threats are. If Devon keeps this up, he can have a case to win this thing.

If you had told me that my top 3 would consist of Devon, JP, and Lauren at the start of this game, I wouldn’t have believed you. But here we are, seeing early favorites like Ryan, Ben, and Joe crumble. But two people are leaving this week, so I have a feeling we’ll get one predictable elimination (Joe) and one big blindside (Ben).

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home 1st- Joe Mena

Going Home 2nd- Ben Driebergen
