Josh is gone, thank goodness. We see that there are contenders becoming less and less promising, Ramsay getting less and less confident in these All Stars, and Jared cutting off his finger in the upcoming week. So let’s rank.
13. Jared Bobkin- Jared’s upcoming injury looks pretty serious. Without seeing the preview, I’d put him up at the 9 spot, but we saw that Ramsay wasn’t going to risk Ben’s illness, so I don’t think he’ll be willing to risk Jared’s, especially since he isn’t a front runner anyway.
12. Benjamin Knack- Oui, chef? Ugh, goodbye.
11. Michelle Tribble- Michelle is DRASTICALLY getting weaker and weaker given a few awesome weeks in the beginning. She is slipping, and if she continues to slip any more, she could be going home. She isn’t a huge personality like Robyn or Elise, so Ramsay would have no reason to keep her around other than potential. And right now, that potential isn’t as evident as her first few showings.
10. Elise Harris- Elise has been getting really really lucky lately. She has zero work ethic. But she can cook. I think Ramsay will keep her around another few weeks, but Elise making black jackets seems like a pretty slim chance right now, and is only there to serve some fine food and cause drama.
9. Robyn Almodovar- Robyn isn’t exactly improving on the men’s team, but the men seem to be helping her a lot more than the women did. I think this new environment could help her, even if she is still a weak link. Josh’s new team didn’t embrace her, and the men seem to be thrilled to have Robyn over Josh, so that is going to work in her favor.
8. Manda Palomino- Manda is on the weaker end, but found her voice last week against Josh. She knows how to stand up for herself, and I hope this was a glimmer of goodness to come. If not, I wouldn’t be sad to see her go, because she is still far from a contender.
7. Milly Medley- Milly was probably the top contender until this week. He was just off his game. Maybe it’s a fluke, but if he continues to forget recipes, he’s in for some danger down the road.
6. Giovanni Filippone- Giovanni has been doing well, but hasn’t necessarily been given a winner edit. So he falls right here toward the top, because I don’t see him going anywhere anytime soon.
5. Barbie Marshall- Barbie is actually surprising me, and is doing much better not having Robyn on her team. I think Josh provided a much needed distraction to take the heat off of Barbie, and I hope the heat stays off of her. She may be on a redemption arc, and Barbie could take this all the way. This was the first week I saw Barbie as a contender.
4. Jennifer Normant- I still adore her, and while we haven’t seen her at her peak, she’s been doing just fine and should be just fine. Losing her over Elise, Manda, Barbie, or Michelle would be a shame.
3. Dana Cohen- Dana is the best on the red team. At this point, there aren’t many people ahead of her. The finish line already seems in sight for Dana.
2. Van Hurd- Van is a larger than life character, but unlike Robyn or Elise, he delivers with the food every time. He always seems like the go-to for anything on his team, and his team seems to look at him as their leader, as seen in the challenges. Good stuff.
1. Nick Peters Bond- Nick went into the game as my least promising All-Star, and now, he has grown to be one of my favorites this season. Josh is gone, which means Nick’s focus is entirely on the prize and nothing else. He hasn’t topped the list yet, and he does this time, simply because he has yet to screw up, and gives good tv.
Nick, Van, Dana, and Jennifer are the only ones without a strike to their record. Giovanni has burnt meat before, Milly forgot a recipe, and Barbie was ignored by her team, but they seem to be the next in line. Between the rest, any of them could go, but I think his injury will keep Jared from continuing much further. But if Ramsay decided to say bye to Benjamin, I’d say “oui!”
