a master's program, do you also work? are you just taking night classes? whose done this before. do u find a job first and then do your masters or do your masters then find a job?

Comments

i've talked to my professor about this when i was graduating and he said both have pro's and cons.
If you do masters first then find a job it's easier to get good paying jobs, but the downside is you may not be sponsored when doing your masters.
If you work first then do masters its really hard to get back in the rhythm after taking a break and earning money. But on the upside your work tends to sponsor your masters.

If money is a big factor i'd go with option 2.

I did a doctoral program and I worked on weekends but all my friends that did masters would work in the day part time and have most of their classes at night.  I think it's good if you can find something related to your program to get work experience in.  Makes it easier once you have the actual degree to get a job.

I just completed my Masters a couple months ago. Idk how your school does it.

I received a stipend from being a TA, kinda like a work study option. I was under the professor who supervised my thesis, and was a TA for all his classes. I also then found part time work after I got my Master schedule. Luckily I worked at the apartment complex I lived at after leaving LE DAIRY QUEEN

well i currently have a full time job but i think im gonna start masters next year, and idk if dropping my fulltime job to do my masters faster (vs. doing it part time) is smart because ill be jobless at the end, wondering how difficult itll be to find another job after fighterman koolness234 amanyaman
