When WE, who don't have English as first language, play the game everyone wants to attack us. We can't vote out anyone, we can't kill ppl from hunger, we literally can't play the game. And what I just passed here in this game is pure Xenophobia but no one do anything to solve this.
I'm not here to convince how xenophobic lots of ppl in the site are, but I won't let you treat ppl like this bc this is not different of real life.
I'm not Mexican or Spanish. I am Brazilian. I speak PORTUGUESE, not Spanish. PERIOD
I think what it boils down to is that this site was built around America's version of Big Brother primarily, then brought in the British version of the game with Stars. Then the .es and .br sites were created to cater to those who lived in Spanish and Portugese speaking countries. Once those were shut down, those users came here where the language barrier wasn't the easiest to overcome. So the users who spoke Spanish or Portuguese became friends and it's easy to associate them together which is why they're often targeted. However it is very easy to overcome language barriers if both parties put in the effort, I have created several friendships with those who don't speak English as their primary language on this site :) just takes time and patience.
it literally sums up america well - latins are welcome as long as they don't do anything to bother, then they will be persona non grata number 1 (above americans who have done the same)
Sebbers understood and agreed with what you're saying but it's very hard when english speakers don't give us the opportunity to play and do things in game bc they assume just because we are portuguese/spanish speakers we're together. i literally shot a brazilian person i don't like in hg - we're allowed to have our beefs as well
Hunty I completely understand that! I can only imagine how frustrating it is, I was just trying to explain maybe why this happens. I don't agree with it and don't think it's right or fair at all. I can only speak on behalf of myself when it comes to this and say I have quite a few friends who originated on .es or .br and have made effort to get to know them despite a language barrier. A lot of the English speaking users just might not think putting in the effort is worth their time, which is unfortunate and not fair :(
