Old time survivor VS newer seasons

May 27, 2018 by Philip13
The difference between them is night and day. It's literally a completely new show. Survivor, the show itself, died. This new crap is not Survivor.

This season sucked but newer survivor is better imo

Watch Survivor South Africa, it reminds me of more old school survivor.

i think of survivor in eras:

Era 1: Borneo - All-Stars

Era 2: Vanuatu - Micronesia

Era 3: Gabon - Caramoan

Era 4: Blood Vs. Water - Second Chances

Era 5: Kaoh Rong - Game Changers

Era 6: HvHvH - Present

BrendaMeekz That's very interesting, why have you divided them in this way?

Borneo - All-Stars (The beginning where the game started taking form and was mostly about surviving and learning about people's personalities. Votes were also more personal than strategic, even All-Stars was like this, plus the original all-stars originated from these seasons.)

Vanuatu - Micronesia (A lot more strategic, still not in HD yet and idols appear for the first time halfway through, and become a staple of the series by the end of it. Also a new generation of All-Stars are born.)

Gabon - Caramoan (Now we're in HD! Idols are not only apart of the game, but expected, and soon people start finding them without clues even. Strategy takes over and votes are rarely personal, but still some seasons have personal votes. Seasons are still about personalities, but now more focused on strategy than before. A new generation of 'all-stars' are born as well. The show is also now 10 years old and known. Big Moves are not yet a thing, but after Malcolm's flashy tribal, big moves begin to take form.)

BvW - Kaoh Rong (on 2nd thot KR should be in Era 4) (Big Moves are now very much a thing, and people start looking at ways to not only get to the end, but play the best game to win at the end by being flashy and finding idols and BLINDSIDING. Ciera Eastin inspires all of this. Confessionals between men and women also becomes a lot more evened out and the editing is fixed to leave the winner not as obvious as it was in previous seasons, and casting is at an all time high. Also the last time the original music is used for tribal council.)

MvGX - Present (Now the game is all about big moves, don't make them, no shot at winning. Juries also are a LOT more bitter now due to people playing less personally, and more strategically. The strategic game is now favored over the social game ENTIRELY. Also idols are now more plentiful than they ever were, to the point where idols are now in the double digits, and useless advantages such as the Legacy Advantage now infect the game. Also editing reverts back to favoring Probst favorites, the men, and we see Purple edits more often. A new era of casting also starts, which favors gamebots over big personalities and RHAP people also get casted.)
