The editing this season is actually good. We pretty much know everyone, and people who have had small edits up to this point such as Devon, Desi and Roark are finally getting more screen time as well. We also have somewhat of an understanding of the dynamics of all three new tribes which is nice.
The thing I like most about this season is that it's hard to predict who goes home. The last two Tribal Councils have honestly been complete blindsides to me as a viewer. I expected Lauren to go home over Patrick in Episode 3, and I expected Desi to go home over Alan last night. I don't like Joe but his idol play was pretty good.
The only thing I don't understand is why Jessica decided to cancel Devon's vote. If Jessica wanted to maximize the Healers chance of surviving, she should have canceled Alan or Ashley's votes. For all she knew, Devon could have been WITH Desi and Joe, and she would have inadvertently caused rocks if Joe didn't have an idol. The only explanation I can think of is that she might have wanted to flush Joe's idol.
After four episodes I feel there are 4 people this season with winner edits - Ali, Ben, Chrissy and Jessica. And I would honestly be happy with any of them as winners.
EDIT: also the fact that we didn't know whether Devon's advantage was good or bad until Tribal was so good. I love Survivor trolling.
Someone mentionned that Jessica wanted that tribe to take out Devon to not anger Ben who they told about the advantage and they didnt care if Lauren was mad and tbh I think it makes sense
I would have thought jessica blocking devon's vote was because he was the middle man from how other tribes saw and she wanted the two healers to prevail.
novamax243 this isn't true, the edit is portraying Jessica as the mastermind of the duo. I suspect that either he continues to make stupid plays and she ends up having to fuck him over, or they are in the finals and this is helping set up why she wins.
I think her and Ryan's edits are both a little too good to be winners edits though. I feel like Chrissy has the most balanced edit (especially the last episode focused more on humanizing her) and I actually think Lauren has a solid edit.
