Hello! Hello! I am a huge big brother fan. I have watched every single season since it air in July of 2000. I have been to all the fan boards. Watched the live feeds and even watched BB from other countries. My favorite are BBCAN and BBUSA, though CBBUK was pretty awesome as well.
What in my opinion makes a great Big Brother player? I like a well rounded player. Somebody who embodies the game on multiple levels. What does that mean? I want to see a player who can describe to me his/her game. Some one that is strategic, comp wins, social game, jury management and most of all I want them to be able to stand up and own their game. If you had to lie then admit to me that you lied like your life depending on it and your not ashamed of it and don't blame me for having to do it because I was playing my game too. I am a threat to you and there for I had to go.
Strategic, you saw who in the house threatened you the most. Oh she had to go, people flocked around her and allowed her to dictate who should or shouldn't be evicted. Tell me how you got her evicted. Did you do it by your own hand or did you convince someone else that targeting her was in both your best interests.
Comp wins, What did you do when you won a comp? Did you take out a person who was a threat to your personal game or to the games of people in your alliance? I get that if they are a threat to your alliance member that they could there for be considered a threat to you. However, was there a bigger threat in the house that perhaps should of been targeted? Why didn't you target them instead? Were they good for your game? What would of happened in your mind if you had targeted them instead? Example: Nicole won the DE HOH Cliff won the Veto. They chose to evict Christy. Why? Because evicting Jackson would of caused Holly to group up with Tommy and Christy who would then target Cliff and Nicole. Tommy would of been the next HoH since Jackson wasn't there, or Christy. Either way Cliff and Nicole would of been on the block and Cliff would have most likely been evicted.
Social game and Jury management can sometimes come together, but as Josh proved not always. How to people see you in the house? Do they like you? When they leave the house do they feel good about you still? How do you send someone out of the house and still make them like and respect you and your game? Tricky right? Evel Dick and Josh showed us all how useful the GBM's can be to game. They always explained why you were such a huge target to them and their game and apologized for anything they may have done that hurt your feelings. In other words, stroke that ego and tell them what an awesome player they are.
Nicole has been dubbed the Angel of Death. This is because she has continuously positioned herself in a place of power almost every other week. The swing vote. She has had long 1 on 1 conversations with out going HG's. She has always made them think they had a chance to sway her vote, though we know better. She has always been kind to each hg. This is good jury management and an exceptional social game. Only one person says anything ill about Nicole and well she doesn't have two brain cells to rub together so I won't count her.
But that's my humble opinion on what makes a great BB player. Many of you may agree, many of you may disagree and that's ok. IF we all agreed the world would be a boring place to be and the house would definitely entertain nobody.
