honorable mention: melodrama even tho she came out in 2017 mwah

#10. Forever Neverland - MØ

I've been a pretty big fan of MØ ever since I heard Kamikaze, so I was super excited to hear that she was coming out with a new album this year! The album as a whole isn't my favorite but there are quite a few really really good songs on it so it just had to make the list!

Favorites: Nosalgia & If It's Over

-

#9. Trench - Twenty One Pilots

Twenty One Pilots is probably one of my favorite bands of all time. I saw them in concert a couple years ago during their Blurryface tour and it was such an amazing experience. This album was definitely great however it didn't live up to Blurryface or Vessel in my opinions which is why it's so low, however it compares great to the albums released this year!

Favorites: Nico and the Niners & My Blood

-

#8. The Kids are Alright - Chloe x Halle

I honestly have no idea how I stumbled across this album but I'm so glad I did. This is an amazing debut album and the sound is so cohesive and amazing all throughout the album. R&B has never been my favorite genre but this album deserves so much priase especially as a debut. I really hope they win best new artist at the grammy's!!

Favorites: The Kids Are Alright, Down, & Grown

-

#7. Love is Dead - CHVRCHES

Much like Twenty One Pilots, I've been a huge fan of CHVRCHES for a while and love their music. However, this album again wasn't as amazing as the album before it, Every Open Eye. It definitely has amazing songs on it and I'm obsessed with the unique sound that CHVRCHES has.

Favorites: Get Out, My Enemy, Love is Dead, & Graffiti

-

#6. Sweetener - Ariana Grande

This isn't Dangerous Woman but honestly....who cares this album is so iconic. It doesn't deserve the hate that it gets. Granted there are a few skips on the album... (glances at blazed) but overall it such a good sound for her and I find myself listening to it over and over again. I love the meaning behind some of the songs especially the second half of the album!!

Favorites: R.E.M., goodnight n' go, get well soon, & better off

-

#5. Expectations - Hayley Kiyoko

Omg it's about damn time we get a debut album from this queen. Girls like Girls had me hooked and I'm so glad she continued to keep that sound on this album. There is such a variety of songs on this album and honestly I love every single song on it. I love how open she is about her sexuality and it's so refreshing for her to sing about it in a way that everyone can relate to. I absolutely love this album and wish I could rank it higher as I've listened to it countless times this year.

Favorites: Sleepover, What I Need, Curious, & Palm Dreams

-

#4. Golden Hour - Kacey Musgraves

Yeehaw bitch. I only discovered this album a couple weeks ago but I can already tell I'm going to be listening to it a ton. I've never considered myself a fan of country music besides the Dixie Chicks, but Kacey brings something so fresh to music that I can't help but love every song on this album. Her voice is so smooth and pairs perfectly with the music and lyrics she provides. The songs have such a good meaning and put me in such a good mood, I'm absolutely obsessed and will be very pleased if she wins album of the year.

Favorites: Slow Burn, Space Cowboy, Rainbow, & Velvet Elvis

-

#3. Blue Madonna - Børns

Borns music puts me in a mood that literally no other artist is able to do. I feel so relaxed and chill when Iisten to him and it's such an amazing feeling. His debut album is one of my favorite albums of all time and this album is no different. There isn't a single bad song on the album and I found myself listening to this on repeat during the summer. It's the perfect music to listen to while relaxing in a pool getting a suntan, like I did all summer. I wish this album got more praise that it did!

Favorites: God Save Our Young Blood, Sweet Dreams, Man, & Blue Madonna

-

#2. Dirty Computer - Janelle Monae

Not only did this queen give us one of the most politically important albums of all time, but she gave us stunning visuals to go along with this absolute masterpiece. If you haven't listened to this album you are an absolute let down to society. Janelle has a stunning voice and she knows how to work it with the sound of this album. It has an amazing mix of songs that everyone can enjoy reglardless of your favorite genre or style. I cannot praise this album enough because it is truly a masterpiece. Deserves every award it gets!

Favorites: Pynk, Crazy Classic Life, Americans, So Afraid, Screwed, I Like That, & I Got the Juice

-

#1. Bloom - Troye Sivan

Ugh, I am so obsessed with Troye and the representation he brings to the gay community. His debut album was so amazing but he really came all the way through with this album. His sound is so amazing and this album has the perfect mix of bops and songs that get you in your feels. There isn't a single bad song on this album whatsoever. The fact that I got to experience this album live just a couple months ago definitely is the reason its my number 1 of 2018. He has such an amazing sound and I'm so proud that this album did as well as it did.

Favorites: Seventeen, Plum, My My My, What a Heavenly Way to Die, Bloom, Animal, Dance to This, & Postcard
