Big Brother and online Hunger games.

Just my opinions

Sep 18, 2013 by OliverPopsicle
I used to spend just about every second of every day on this website when I was like fifteen because it was so addictive and I had nothing better to do other than eat too much food and kill time pretending to revise for my exams. But now when I think about the fact that there are people in their twenties and thirties who still play this competitively (and don't get payed for it) I actually feel really bad!! You must have pretty dull lives no!?

I'm nineteen now and would maybe consider the occasional game with my online friends for old times sake (who I still have on Facebook and met up with a few years ago) but I think that three games at once at every point of the year when you're an adult is really sad! You should take up a work life, social life, a holiday or ANYTHING that will get you out of the house!! I was a teenager with not many friends and little confidence when I used to play this but once I got myself a place at university, my own flat and a job I realised that there is no time in life for a stupid online game that requires the amount of effort and dedication that this one does.

Don't get me wrong, the games on here are quite fun and extremely addictive, but the people on here long past puberty who spend every day of their lives looking for keys, completing mini challenges, spamming, checking whose online, betting; it's just a little bit sad.

I'll either get negged for this or ignored completely but just thought I'd put my opinion out there and say that I've totally grown out of this site and anyone over the age of eighteen who takes this game seriously and gets angry, upset, frustrated and moody over the results probably need to re-evaluate their life priorities.

I'm out. Post me your thoughts.

i don't think it is wrong for any person of any age to be on here as long as they have their priorities straight

Hi, I'm 25

"You should take up a work life, social life, a holiday or ANYTHING that will get you out of the house!! "

I have a full time job, a social life, have been on 3 holidays in the last year, and always leave te house.

I think the argument you are trying to make is a very misguided one. I manage to do all the above things while still being in a survivor game.

Also, what's the correct definition of "getting a life" what you think is a social life is complete different to the next person, and the person after that.

There's a large amount of parents on this website, so because they are older, arnt in school, they shouldn't have fun on a website that they get to enjoy for a few hours when the kids go to bed?

Your blog is small minded really. Every single one of us log on here for different reasons, fun, drama, a place to escape. You can't judge every tengager the same way.

BlueStar I'm not judging everyone on this website. Like I said, I'd consider coming back for a game now and again with my old friends on here. But if you're trying to tell me that people who have perfect (or even imperfect) records in games and are playing three games at a time all through the year have time for a work and social life outside of this website then you're mistaken or deluded. I wouldn't call this website much of a social life.

dmann Yeah, you got me there, I agree. But it's very hard to stop playing once you start.

You said people in twenties and thirties who play competitively (which I do) need to reevaluate their lives.

So this applies to me?

BlueStar It probably does. I mean, Survivor doesn't take much effort if you know how to cheat at the mini games, but otherwise you must have had to take a pretty decent amount of time out of your days to perfect getting good scores at each and every mini game. Fair enough, it's only two challenges a day and you don't have to sit and spam comments 24/7 like the other games, but still...

I found this site when I needed a diversion from the stress of my real life. My real life includes a job also. We all are here for different reasons. I never played well enough in the games to get upset about my placings. It's hard to be online enough to play some of these for sure. If I was going to school and time on here kept me from getting enough sleep or doing bad at school that would not be good. Being online instead of being with your friends or family makes you miss out on a lot regardless of your age:(
