Since I had so much time in quarantine, I listened to way more projects than usual, 40 to be exact. Most are albums, but there's 2 or 3 EPs in there so I thought it'd be fun to rank them!
#37 is.......High Road - Kesha
Highlights - Raising Hell is a fun single. Father Daughter Dance was once my favorite. It fell a bit, but I still enjoy it. Resentment is great! Chasing Thunder is amazing too! Obviously, though, Cowboy Blues is my favorite and is the highlight as it's the only song off the album to make my top 100 of the year. It's just such a pretty song that brings me back to the Rainbow days I love and miss from Kesha. Just such a beautiful, simple song where her voice hits you with so much emotion. Love it!
Lowlights - I don't remember hating the album this much, but dang...4 albums in dark red tier. A lot of songs on this album aged poorly. Obviously the lowlights would be Tonight, My Own Dance, Birthday Suit, and Potato Song. Honestly, I respect and appreciate Kesha's attempt to mesh Rainbow era Kesha with Animal/Warrior era Ke$ha. Coming in, I thought I'd adore this album cause I love her other three albums even if Rainbow sounds totally different to Animal/Warrior. I just think she didn't do the best at meshing the two themes together. A lot of songs just felt a bit off. I wish the Ke$ha throwback songs felt more Ke$ha. Like they were bad and not in a good way. It just felt meh. Still, though, she's a queen and I can't wait to listen to her next album whenever it drops!
