The two big rumors are that the newbies wipe out some of the returning players at a faster pace than normal and that the winner is someone who had been previously voted out of the game and came back in as part of the season's twist. I cannot confirm either as definite, it's only what’s been heard from some cast members of past seasons.
Producers are considering doing a full on series revamp for 39 and 40. I don't know what exactly that means but those are the terms being used and it is 100%. They want Survivor to feel fresh and brand new again because they think it is in an S11-S16 slog (even though I personally enjoy 11, 12, 15, and 16), which was when they were originally considering ending it. This is believed to be because of how poorly this season went on top of the fact that producers and Jeff are supposedly underwhelmed by S37.
Edit: This actually makes sense because of the recent firing of the casting director for Survivor who’s been with the show since S1 or S2 I believe. Also that and the fact that all rumors are pointing to a non-returnee winner so either a returnee lost in FTC to go on top of the other returnees having bad performances OR it’s an all-newbie FTC.
they literally just need to go back to basics and get rid of all these dumbass twists like merging idols and voting out your mom and legacy advantages. like go back to just individual immunity and that’s it
