Omg hey y'all!!! Im gonna try to get this round done faster than a month lmao its been messy
Anyways so I am bringing back one of my favourite rounds from Season 1! It was a hit for me and I just wanted to do it again <3
We are doing SCORES 2.0!. Idc idc
So obviously you can't do a film that has been used in this series but for the sake of it, you can not use a sequel or something in the franchise (if there is one) of the submitted films in the original round in season 1 as the themes will likely be similar and im not here for that.
And I want your thoughts!!! Tell me why you like the score. It helps me get perspective!
Annihilation (2018) is a lovecraftian-style horror movie with a soundtrack to reflect just that! Its abstract, terrifying and quite honestly feels out-of-this-world! It just fits the movie soooo perfectly and I'd even say makes certain scenes better!
most of studio ghibli's movies have great scores, but i had to go with this one because it is (to me anyways) easily the most impactful score out of all of them. that's more so to do with the actual movie's content itself LOL but i really can't listen to this score without getting emotional.
oh and as additional info it is the first score to use vocaloid and all the music fucks but i am especially a fan of hit song mediational field which fucks extra hard
Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King (2003) Directed by: Peter Jackson, Score by: Howard Shore.
A part of me feels a lil cheap to use a movie that’s a sequel to one I used in my OG season but if I wanted to go with a score that truly moves me to tears every single time I watch it, that list was extremely narrow. All of the LOTR movies have a phenomenal track, which just carries through all the movies, but it’s The Return of the King where it really hit me. The music just brings this world and story to life and adds so much emotion, and emphasizes the scenes. The most notable scene: when the kingdom of Rohan finally make it to the battle.

One of my ALL time faves I don’t think this has been used? Probs top 3 movies of all time for me the sound score creates such an unnerving feel for the whole movie I love it
