New's Movie Taste: All Stars - ROUND 4 (ELIMINATION)

Aug 7, 2022 by NewNightmare7
Well well I did it in a day! Im proud of myself.

I gotta say I was stunned by both your choices. In a free reign round y'all basically chose to go the fucked up route and like yes.

But never the less, someone must be eliminated...here are the critiques:

Thirteen - The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007) - I tend to find that true crime kind of fucks me up the most and I dont know if it has to do with its style or its disascoiative nature. Even mockumentary style can still fuck me up so while this has been on my list, ive been a little too shook to visit it but you chose it so. Honestly this wasn't as fucked up as I expected it to be. But like don't get me wrong, those tapes are dusturbing as hell and very uncomfortable to watch especially the ones involving children oh my god, but I kind of found this movie to be frustrating in its execution. It feels kind of empty. I don't really know how to describe it but I just left a little cheated out of the whole meaning of the film, which I guess is the overall point but for me, I just don't find that investing to me. Its actually why I hate Funny Games. While overall, it has some fucked up shit and was at least interesting to watch, I dont really feel much coming out of it unfortunately.

turkeylover - Tusk (2014) - The second Kevin Smith movie of this series! I've heard fucked up things about it so I have been intrigued. Does Kevin Smith really assume that we act and talk like this? Like I can garuntee no one is having a conversation with a security agent in the airport but pop off sis. I will say though that we do try to convert people into walruses. That part is true. What a fucked up concept oh my god. I have to say this movie started off pretty boring. I found the dialogue to be a little stale and douchey until shit got real!!! It just went up and it became great. I liked its balance of fucked upness with comedy. It was really bizarre but also dumb? Like the walrus fighting scene was hilarious and amazing. And then it has this like tragic end lmao. This movie was a trip and while I can't say I loved it, I can say it was something else.

In whats already been a hard round, this is the toughest elimination of the season thus far, but the eliminated person is...
