turkeylover - The Virgin Suicides (1999) - First off, I would like to say that Josh Hartnett's hair in this movie is horrendous and a crime. Im offended. That being said, I loved this movie. It has a weird fever dream style to it and it makes the subject material feel very heavy and not forced. I really liked the choice to explain all the girls died in the beginning of the movie because it makes the rest of the film have a haunting quality. The stress of being alone and socially repressed is something I very much relate to the all of the girls give amazing performances...particularily Kirsten Dunst but is that a surprise? No. Go Sofia Coppola she directed the hell out of this movie.
Symmetry888 - Legally Blonde (2001) - Yeah its weird I haven't checked this one out before. But im glad it was entered! I had a really fun time with this movie! I dont think the comedy really sticks out but the story itself is just so investing! I really buy into Reese Witherspoon's character and Im glad it really goes out to break cliche's and stereotypes. Its a cool concept and its executed pretty well! Overall, this movie is just entertaining and its what I need in my sick depression at the moment. Can I also just say that Ali Larter is underrated.
PennyTrationStan - Greener Grass (2019) - Right out of the gate I am in love with the way its shot. It looks beautiful and I love the bright colour pallet. The one thing I truly appreciate about your experience is how different every film you submitted this game has been. This movie is no different and I really enjoyed it. I liked the weird choice that like early 2010's youtube skits had where they would do back and forth zoom ins with different facial expressions. Takes me back. Julian Hilliard is great here and I was ultra shook at what happened to him midway through. There were alot of choices like that that I was so confused but was on board for. It was fun to vibe in the chaos and it wasn't so straight. It played on it and I really like that.
Demgirl6 - Little Women (2019) - I'm a start off saying this kind of movie is not for me. Im not a fan of period pieces. I just find it hard to get into the setting. However, despite not feeling it at first, this movie grew on me as it went along and that is solely because of Florence Pugh. She absolutely carries this movie! Saoirse Ronan and Laura Dern are also great but my god I loved Florence. Just makes me stan her more. I love the direction Greta Gereig takes, she really understands coming of age tales, in a modern setting or old. What a great movie!
With that...the winner of the round and moving on to the finals is.....
