So we have tbrown_47 & oswordo3 in the bottom 2. Here are the critiques:
oswordo3 - Stand By Me (1986) - Oh man I feel like Rob Reiner is just such a nice guy! He seems so insightful and really brings his craftmanship out to perfection. I have never seen this movie but absolutely love Misery! So I was excited for this movie no doubt. An amazing cast and director. This movie is such a personal journey its pretty heartwrenching to watch but its also extremely captivaring. I felt for each of them and their personal story. The movie also just flows very nicely. I had a really good time through the movie which is a rarity. Normally im a little uninvested but it kept me going and I really enjoyed it!
tbrown_47 - Doctor Sleep (2019) - Oh man i've talked about it before but I absolutely love Mike Flannagan as a director. Him and his crew always put so much passion into the projects they work on and seeing this for the first time in the theatre, I was absolutely astounded. The fleshing of the characters (particularily the True Knot), the pace, the gorgeous cinematography, Emily Alyn Lynd, Rebecca Ferguson and Kyleigh Curran carrying this movie. There is just so much to love I could go into an essay about it. I've also watched the 3 hour directors cut and I find that even better. Without a doubt my favourite movie of 2019, one of the best to come from the 21st century, and most likely one of my favs of all time.
Honestly this sucks, I really enjoy both of these movies and I seriously struggled. Its hard when one has stood the test of time but one has compelled me from the get go. So with that being said, the contestant that is staying in the competition is...
