8. Kennedy Vs. DeLa (Green Light) - This is probably the lip sync I remember the least about. I cannot tell you anything Kennedy did and the only thing I remember about DeLa was she turned into the Grudge for a moment. I also feel like the song was a weird choice because its like very slow and then slightly picks up but doesnt go much anywhere and it just felt weird to watch.
7. Trixie Vs. Kennedy (Wrecking Ball) - The only lip sync Trixie won because it was by default. This lip sync was a mess and once again, the wrong choice. Trixie did nothing except rip out her hair while Kennedy was basically doing everything which the song was not calling for. One of the funniest things though is the wide shot where shes just dancing like a mad man behind Trixie. Overall, a very disappointing lip sync, outcome (Shangela was robbed), and season.
6. DeLa Vs. Bebe (Nobodys Supposed to be Here) - Well...this is another lip sync that I dont remember all that much. Ik both were doing an ok job and Bebe was doing better but then...she took off her wig. This was one of the instances in drag race where it was really sad because she could have won and BenDeLaChristGate wouldnt have happened and everyone would be happy (Unless DeLa quits right after). I dont fault the lip sync for what happened but the lip sync as a whole doesnt give me much of an impression. Aja's wig commentary was hilarious "You aint no Sasha Velour bitch keep your wig on".
5. Bebe Vs. Trixie (The Boss) - I actually like the final 5 of these lip syncs. This one in particular is nothing huge to celebrate but I still think its pretty fun and Trixies 2nd best lip sync. But, she was going up against basically Diana Ross herself and she had no cjance. Bebe was her and did everything well enough to win. Trixie was fine doing a couple moves here and there it was entertaining. I enjoyed it but because of its simplistic nature and obvious outcome, it lands at number 5...also, Aja was fucking robbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. DeLa Vs. Shangela: Part 2 (I Kissed a Girl) - This is pretty messy Im not gonna lie about that, but I just liked how it all went down. Shangela channeling a good girl about to go bad and then DeLa, well, I have mo clue what she was channeling but she did it lmao. The interaction between the two was really funny, starting with an almost kiss, then DeLa goes down on Shangela, then Shangela is throwing breath mints at her I was so confused but intrigued and then it ended by Shangelas fast af death drop and DeLa climbing on her. Everything I wanted from a good girl gone bad lip sync.
3. Shangela Vs. Trixie (Freaky Money) - Oh gurl, I dont like the song but i love the lip sync. Shangela with her fat suit just twerking away, bicycling on the ground, reserve humping Trixie's leg, I never knew I needed this til it happened. Trixie had no chance. It just worked in Shangelas favour. Side note: In maybe the worst case of trying to foreshadow, Shangela kept comparing herself to Daenerys but lost right at the end when everything was in order for her to win...sameish thing happened in actual Game of Thrones. Anyways, a really fun lip sync that I can rewatch over and over for Shangela alone.
2. DeLa Vs. Shangela: Part 1 (Jump) - I am in love with this song and its all thanks to this lip sync and man, this lip sync is great and a little underrated. No one really talks about it which is a shame because its great comedy and camp which the song immediately calls for. Right off the bat, DeLa is playing a character that is forgetful, Lazy and a copycat and half assed follows Shangela's moves through the last half of the zong and its so good. Shangela looks and performed like she was a dance video instructor with her jumping rope, it was good. My favourite part though is the breakdown. Shangela's on the floor and DeLa is "tired" while Chi Chi and Aja in the back are lip syncing to and holding each other. Then DeLa starts following what Shangelas doing and Shangela pops out some Manila eyes. Then DeLa is following her to the back of the stage and out of frustration, Shangela almosts kicks DeLa! Hilarious reaction face right there. I love this lip sync. But, the obvious number 1 is obvious.
1. DeLa Vs. Aja (Anaconda) - Oh my god. Never would I have thought that this Nikki Minaj song out of her entire discography would make Drag Race and never would I have thought it turn out so well. Aja gave Nikki spazisms. DeLa gave something more and both of them together easily created the best lip sync of the season and one of the best of all time. Also, lets not forget the third queen to lip sync, Michelle Visage as she fucking laughed her way through everything DeLa was doing, it was so funny i almost started cackling the same way! Aja has now perfected the helicopter split and then basically got fucked by an invisible person for a few seconds much to Carson's shock! It literally was everything and the part that probably wasnt gonna be kept in if any other queen lip synced was the part everyone loves the most: the breakdown where DeLa goes full batshit crazy!!!! Its just such an experience to watch and if only the rest of the season was up to par as this first episode was. This might be my overall favourite premiere episode to date cause it just had everything and gave such a good finish!
Season 10 is up next and...hmm Im not sure how its gonna go down but believe me, lip sync for the crown is gonna be low!!!!!
Also, AS4 has so many lip syncs (if we’re including the returning queen lip syncs) so that may be a behemoth to do lol
