I'd like to make something in the near future which would be a sort of competition through the Groups system. I'm not sure how it works, and I'd like any tips I can get on doing private competitions so that I can avoid many ways that other competitions go wrong.
The questions I have if anyone can answer them is how are star games done, chosen, how do they work? And also how do people do group games, and how does the group system fully work? Plus any tips you have on me doing a competition personally and any tips on how I can succeed on the Tengaged system.
Any game involving backstabbing will be your worst game ever. I reached 7th on my previous round because I made an alliance with everyone, and then tried playing them off against eachother, they contacted eachother and got me out before. It's so simple to do, but will cost you a lower place in the rankings.
So what do you do?
Well I don't advise against backstabbing, as sometimes it's needed for you to get further on but I do advise that you don't contact everyone individually as they might be in there own alliances, try one at a time and if they reject, move along to the next person.

Seriously, the key to getting in the final 3 is finding an alliance of 3-4, no more, and maybe finding another alliance and playing them off against each other, with you being clean each way.
Or find one, and make sure you're likeable and make others unlikable so others get voted for. Don't go for the inactive straight away! Infact, go for the most active person who isn't in your alliance, then get the inactives out after.
