I wasn’t going to make a blog but seeing as the other finalists have, and seeing as they have most of it wrong, might as well make a short one. This game was extremely exhausting, with most of the gameplay happening in the last hour before dc. The key was all about ensuring that you talked to enough people fast enough so that the final set of the day wouldn’t land on you, and I became really good at doing this. Being the only European and having to play in a different timezone to everybody made this even harder because I had to stay up until ungodly hours sometimes to make sure I did not get nommed.
I was in no major alliance at the start of the game, and I really don’t know how I didn’t go up. Big miss steak on their part. I made sure I appealed to the obvious majority alliance that was being lead by zachbbsitsaustin and maturo, and this was how I was able to skate by. I made two final 3’s with KrisStory and Spiderboom and another with Icebeast and temponeptune. At final 13, my name finally started coming up with temponeptune and I took it into my own hands to gather all of the outsiders and we started chipping away at the majority alliance.
Between Icebeast, temponeptune and myself, we controlled the house, whether you like it or not rory17. At final 10, when temponeptune and I were being targeted, with 30 minutes left, we created a brand new set and got it through, that’s how much influence we had. Sorry you had to take the fall rory17! Eventually this caught up to us, but the relationships I had outside of our trio were enough to keep me safe.
The most important dc’s for me were for 5th and 4th. For 5th, I knew I had to push for Kelly2722 and mathboy9 because that would leave the two popularity threats as noms for 4th that I would then be able to work on getting them up. I managed to convince kelly2722 that I wanted to go up with Adam for 5th and that I did not lock him in, allowing me a shot to not get nommed for 4th. I made sure to talk no game to Courtney and Kris on the last dc, edited and deleted any Skype messages that could be used against me and put all my energy into convincing Kelly. 10 minutes before dc, Courtney made the blunder of messaging me she was locking in Kelly / Kris, and with Kris openly locking in myself and Kelly, I brought this to Kelly and used the fact that I know he did not want to go back up to my advantage.
TLDR:
- I played in a completely different timezone and worked hard to ensure I did not get nommed
- Icebeast, temponeptune and myself controlled the middle like nobody’s business, whether anybody wants to admit it or not, and I would not be here without them,
- This along with my f3 with krisstory and spiderboom I was able to keep myself
- I finally went unnommed, and this is officially my 6th finals
- Not to mention I made an appearance in several speeches and had to survive 3 rounds of being the only unnommed player

I knew there were always chats w out me between the people I was working with. I got cut out of everything around f14 and from there it was just hoping I could wait long enough to have people turn on each other, wherein I could maybe pull off staying off the block one dc af a time. I hoped that maybe at that time I could sneak into some alliance chats, but the closest alliances had already been formed. That was clear to me when I went up with Joe.
But this strategy doesn’t work at the end when half the people left don’t wanna talk to you cuz their allegiances have already been set while you’ve been shut out. I was screwed from the first time I went up. Had things been different, you wouldn’t have gone unnommed. But that’s why this is your game — you set up the optimal circumstances to slide through everyone’s grasp; a consequence I warned everyone would happen.
Congrats man and I hope you can pull it off. If not me, if not tempo, then you, even though you’ve already gotten a win. Going unnommed and losing sucks!
