If you’re currently watching the newest season of BBUS, you may be aware of the festie bestie twist, which pairs up the remaining houseguests with each other and has them play the game together for a portion of the game. That twist is serving as the inspiration for this new season of Animal Crossing Big Brother!
This season will be all about partners! Here’s how it will work.
I will be looking for 16 new villagers to be a part of this season, as usual… but all of them will be paired up! We will have 8 duos of 2 villagers a piece starting out this season.
How it will work is that I’ll establish 8 alliances of 2 at the start of the game. However, they won’t be permanent, so whether these duos stick together all game or split apart fast will be decided by lady luck!
Now, I don’t want these duos to just be of any 2 villagers… so that’s why I’m going to require each duo to be of the same species. If I did it by personality, we would have gender exclusive duos, which I don’t want. So each duo must be of the same species. That way it will be easier to tell the duos apart!
And to make things fun, I’m also going to make a rule stating no two duos can be of the same species. So for example, if someone applied with 2 octopuses, then that would be a duo and no other octopus could play in this season. Does that make sense? (Obviously just an example, all octopuses have already been used)

So, if you see an open duo, you can claim it as any species you want. But if no duos are open, you must apply using a villager that is the same species as the first villager in the already claimed duo.
And I am still going to require an even ratio of 8 male and 8 female villagers.
