Chef Ramsay: Today, you’ll be cooking in your first individual challenge! And for that challenge... I’ve invited some very special guests!
Suddenly, the doors of Hell’s Kitchen open and people begin walking inside.

A bunch of people wearing swimsuits walk inside. Some of them have noticeable sunburns and tan lines.
Chef Ramsay: These are beach goers. And I have offered them all a free lunch today. Of course, those lunches will be cooked by none other than yourselves! That brings us to your challenge... I want you each to make your own appetizer dish, and I want you to make enough servings to feed all of these beach goers. The beach goers will taste each of your dishes, and then they will rank all five of them from their favorite to their least favorite. The chef who gets the most votes for favorite... will win the challenge! Get ready to cook, cause your time starts... NOW!
The chefs then cook their dishes for the beach goers. Eventually, they all begin serving their dishes.
The beach goers taste the five dishes, and they all vote on their favorite.
Chef Ramsay tallies the results.

Chef Ramsay: Assi, for your reward today, I have arranged for you to enjoy the day in your own private cruise ship. The ship has been reserved entirely just for you... so enjoy the day relaxing and doing fun cruise activities! Now, other than the staff and crew, there will be no one else on board... but I still think this isn’t something you should be experiencing alone. So I’d like you to pick one of your fellow chefs to come on this reward with you!

Chef Ramsay: Okay, Kinsington it is! Assi and Kinsington, go get changed for your reward!
Assi and Kinsington then get ready to spend the day on their own cruise ship.
Chef Ramsay: Courtney, James, Vincent... for today’s punishment, you will be following these beach goers back to the beach. However, you won’t be swimming and enjoying the sun. Instead, you’ll be serving as the liter patrol. If you see any trash in the ocean or on the ground anywhere, I want it picked up immediately. Go up to the dorms and maybe put on some sunscreen, you’ll be picking up litter for a long while.
Assi and Kinsington enjoy their day on a cruise ship while Courtney, James and Vincent spend the day on liter patrol at the beach.
-Dinner Service-
It’s time for the Black Jacket’s first dinner service. Here are their stations for the night.
Meat Station: Kinsington
Fish Station: Assi
Garnish Station: Courtney
Hot Apps Station: James
Cold Apps Station: Vincent
Tonight, Chef Ramsay will also be letting each chef take a turn as his Sous Chef, and will be judging each of them on a scale of 1 to 10.
Up first to be judged as a Sous Chef is Vincent.
Vincent is decently vocal. He let’s Assi know that she has made rubber scallops, and that James has made a soupy risotto. However, he fails to notice that Courtney has failed to make one of her garnishes, and is assisted by Chef Ramsay.
Vincent’s Score: 5/10
Up next in the Sous Chef position is Assi. She is very vocal, and informs Kinsington that his lamb is undercooked. However, she loses her words at one point as she tries to tell Courtney that her garnishes are raw.
Assi’s Score: 6/10
Up next is Courtney. She doesn’t use her voice much, and as she tries to tell Assi that she forgot to sear her scallops, she suddenly goes quiet. Chef Ramsay finds the performance to be a little disappointing.
Courtney’s Score: 4/10
Up next is James. He is extremely vocal, and let’s Assi know that she undercooked her salmon. He also informs Kinsington that his wellington is burnt. It’s clear that he is taking no shit from his team.
James’s Score: 8/10
The final chef to take the Sous Chef position is Kinsington. He is clearly trying to be vocal, but is all over the place. He isn’t as vocal as he should be when Courtney doesn’t communicate with her team on garnishes, and he doesn’t even notice that one of Vincent’s cold apps has been prepared wrong. Chef Ramsay has to jump in several times.
Kinsington’s Score: 3/10
After all this, dinner service ends. Chef Ramsay meets with the Black Jackets afterward.
Chef Ramsay: Now THAT was the kind of Black Jacket performance I wanted to see! There were a few bumps, but you all managed to get through it! However... this is still a competition. I’d like for you all yo go up to the dorms, think about both tonight’s service AND everything else that’s happened in this competition, and come up with 2 individuals for elimination.
The chefs then go to their dorms to discuss who is going up.
James suggests Courtney and Assi, because he feels like he carried the red team once he joined it, and they wouldn’t even be here without him.
Courtney and Assi, however, say that isn’t true, and that they both definitely could’ve made it this far without him. Courtney suggests Kinsington should go up in her place, while Assi suggests Vincent should.
Eventually, all the chefs come to a consensus.

The Black Jackets meet with Chef Ramsay for elimination.

Courtney and Assi step forward and state why they should stay in Hell’s Kitchen. Chef Ramsay asks no additional questions.
Chef Ramsay: This is extremely difficult... but I know what I have to do. The person leaving Hell’s Kitchen is...

Courtney. Come here, young lady.
Courtney then walks up to Chef Ramsay.
Chef Ramsay: Listen to me very carefully. You have a lot of fight in you, and I definitely think you were born to cook. However... I just think there have been too many inconsistencies. You’re just not ready to be a head chef. But please... keep that head up. You have accomplished so much in this competition, and you have earned my respect entirely.
Courtney looks like she’s crying.
Courtney: Thank you, chef.
Chef Ramsay: Please... give me your jacket.
Courtney takes her jacket off, hugs Chef Ramsay goodbye, and leaves Hell’s Kitchen.
Chef Ramsay: How does this sound... you now have a 1 in 4 chance of being my next Head Chef! This competition is still wide open, and I can see all four of you winning at the end... so if I were you, I’d be stepping up my game. Get the message?
Everyone: Yes, chef!
Chef Ramsay: Get out of here.
The chefs then head to their dorms for the night.
As Chef Ramsay walks up to his office, his voice narrates the scene.
“When Courtney entered this competition, she clearly meant business. Unfortunately, I knew that after tonight, she’s just not ready to be a leader.”
Chef Ramsay hangs Courtney’s jacket, and her picture burns up.
