It was time to test the chefโs palates in the Blind Annual Taste Test. While Ryan and Gigi proved to have the best palates on the Blue Team, Cleo stood out as the only person to get 4 out of 4 ingredients correct. Dani and Zlataโs palates, however, hardly scored points for the Blue Team, leading to another Red Team victory.
In dinner service, the Blue Team had their best service throughout the entire competition. The Red Team, however, struggled on the meat, fish and apps stations. Chris, however, had a consistent night and was named best of the worst.
At the elimination ceremony, he nominated Cleo and Jorge. Chef Ramsay said goodbye to Jorge, ending his dream of becoming the Head Chef at El Mirage in Atlantic City and winning a quarter of a million dollars.
The chefs wake up bright and early for what they believe will be their next challenge, but little do they know that Chef Ramsay has something different planned for them todayโฆ

Suddenly, a wall comes down from the ceiling containing 5 black chef jackets lit up on display. Everyone suddenly looks happy and joyous.
Chef Ramsay: Oh, Iโm not just gonna give them to you, though. You have to earn them.
Everyone suddenly looks a little less joyous, but no one loses their determination to get a black jacket.
Chef Ramsay: So, hereโs how itโs gonna work. Today, weโre not having a service. Instead, I will be putting you all through a series of 3 challenges to prove to me that youโre worthy of joining this elite club. You have 3 chances to earn an incredible black jacket. Our first challenge will be taking place right now!

Chef Ramsay gives Ryan a black keycard. Ryan goes upstairs and uses his keycard to enter a luxurious lounge where a display of delicious food and drinks await him. There is even a bar with a bartender that hands him a glass of wine.

Five podiums are brought out as well as a giant monitor.
Chef Ramsay: Hereโs how it will work. All 5 of you are going to come up to one of these podiums, and then on screen youโll see a scrambled word. All the words you see will be of an ingredient. The first person to ring in and tell me what ingredient is on screen can either keep it or give it to someone else. Weโll do this until all of you have 3 ingredients that you MUST INCORPORATE in your dish. Then youโll all cook your dishes. Whoโs ready to play?
The chefs play Spellโs Kitchen and attempt to get ingredients theyโre comfortable working with.
Cleo, Lee and Chris all get the exact ingredients they want. However, Dani ends up getting an ingredient she is not familiar with and Gigi gets an ingredient that doesnโt go with her planned dish at all.

The chefs all cook their dishes. The only chefs who are not confident in their dishes are Dani and Gigi due to the ingredients that were not part of their plan.

Chef Ramsay: Itโs cooked beautifully. But the issue for me with this dish is that itโs under-seasoned. It just needed a tad more seasoning on it and it would have been a perfect dish.

Chef Ramsay: Wow. My oh my. Youโve cooked the dish beautifully. The presentation is outstanding as well. This is a stunning dish that oozes quality. Maybe you got lucky with your ingredients, but this is an absolutely perfect dish.
Gigiโs dish is up next.
Chef Ramsay: For me, thereโs one element in this dish that is extremely overpowering. Itโs a shame, because the dish is cooked perfect, but the flavor of this one ingredient overshadows everything else.

Chef Ramsay: So, the dish is cooked perfectly. Youโve nailed the seasoning. The only issue I have is with the executionโฆ the presentation looks a little sloppy. Other than that, itโs a high quality dish.

Chef Ramsay: Wowโฆ this is absolutely stunning. Youโve nailed the presentation, and itโs cooked to perfection. It also tastes incredible. This for me is definitely your best dish across this entire competition, well done.

Chef Ramsay: Look at that. Look at the color on thereโฆ itโs perfect. Youโve absolutely nailed the cooking on this dish. I also love what youโve done with it. Youโve taken a bunch of components and blended them all together perfectly. This is exceptional.

Suddenly, an extra black jacket is lowered from the ceiling on a separate wall. Chef Ramsay takes it and hands it to Chris.
Chris looks extremely shocked and happy at the same time. He even collapses himself on the floor due to how surprised he is.
Chef Ramsay: You really think Iโm gonna send you home after you make a dish like that? Absolutely not! That dish was so good, young man, that Iโve decided to award you the final Black Jacket!
Chris looks like he is about to cry. He takes Chef Ramsayโs final Black Jacket and then Chef Ramsay gives him a keycard.
Chef Ramsay: Young man, youโve proved to me that you absolutely deserve to be here. Congratulations!
Chris heads up to the Black Jacket lounge. Everyone looks extremely shocked to see him there due to the fact that they assumed there were no more jackets to be earned, but they all excitedly greet him and express how happy they are for him.
Soon afterward, Chef Ramsay comes in and explains how he decided to give out an extra Black Jacket due to how good Chrisโs dish was.
Chef Ramsay: Congratulations to all of you! Youโve made it into a very elite club that only a few chefs have entered in this competition. Congratulate yourselves.
The 6 Black Jacket chefs and Chef Ramsay all cheer each other with a glass of champagne.
Chef Ramsay: As I look across this room, I realize that one person out of the 6 of you is going to be my Head Chef at El Mirage. You all have proved youโre the best of the bestโฆ now you have to prove to me that youโre the best leader for the job. For now, though, enjoy the moment!
The chefs continue partying in the Black Jacket lounge with Chef Ramsay.
As they continue partying, Chef Ramsay narrates a comment on Leeโs elimination.
โLee has skills and determination that I donโt usually see in a lot of chefs. Unfortunately, when trying to get a black jacket today, he came up short. However, I know that heโs gonna have a great culinary career.โ
Despite his elimination, Leeโs jacket is not shown being hanged by Chef Ramsay, and his picture is now shown burning up.
The Black Jacketโs first individual reward challenge involves working on a budgetโฆ with very limited money, can the chefs cook up something that tastes like itโs worth a lot more than what it cost?
Then, the chefs originally from 2 teams come together to cook in one kitchen during the first Black Jacket dinner service. Will things go smoothly, or will some chefs not show the skill and consistency Chef Ramsay thought they had?
