Since semi-final 1 of Eurovision is in (still in) 30 days, I decided to rank all of this year's songs based on how much I like them.

NORWAY
LOL OOPS this is going to be controversial. Firstly, Mørland was robbed and his song would've been in my top 10. Now, onto this song. Don't get me wrong, there was a point where I quite enjoyed it and would listen to it, but I'm just over it now. Every time it's on I instantly get annoyed. It's just WAY too generic, especially in the studio version. I really appreciate the inclusion of the Joik, but the song just ends up coming across as messy. All 3 of the performers sing something entirely different, and when it all comes together it just feels really messy to me. I'm sorry to everyone who loves this and expected this to be high, but this song just really isn't for me as it's too messy for its own good.

UNITED KINGDOM
Meh... there's nothing really new I can add about this song that hasn't been said before. It does sound like an X Factor winners single, it's very generic and progresses in the exact way one would expect (especially with the key change). Michael's vocals are what really sells this song for me, and is mostly why it's this high in my ranking. Plus, the song isn't bad by any means and I do enjoy it, but it's nothing I'd ever listen to in my free time. The song is successful in being another inoffensive song sent by the UK which is a nice inclusion but isn't going to make much of an impact at the finale, especially considering a very similar Swedish song will also be there. Overall, I do like this song but don't find myself listening to it often as it just doesn't offer anything new, which is why I've ranked it here

I have a bad feeling that Norway will be the fanwank of the year that doesn't qualify, but then again, they've been well received at the preview parties so I think their Eurovision performance will end up being a lot better than their NF one.
I wonder that too if Norway will be the flop of Semi 2?? I can honestly see it happening, especially since I don’t see the juries gravitating towards it. I’m also concerned for their staging since everything was massive at MGP but they can’t recreate that on stage, which I think could really hurt them too
That song is really annoying.
