Matthew09 I think the purpose of the blackout is to amplify black voices so it's about white people taking a step back from their social media to allow black people the sole voice today. I believe that's what _Adidas_ means, that as white people we can still help amplify these voices by sharing their posts.
I think the black square picture posting is slightly dangerous as well as it comes across performative of white people jumping on a trend. It's caused the blackout of the black lives matter hashtag on instagram which is counter-productive to the whole point of the hashtag as we're silencing black voices instead of giving them a platform today.
I disagree 77sparks77 White people posting the picture in support shows allies and not only from whites but all other races. We need to stand together. Unify. Not keep saying one race can do this and the other shouldn鈥檛. Let鈥檚 quit labeling.
