In the NBA you can basically have a full boxing match and exchange blows to get suspended for the most 3 games
In Tennis, Serena Williams calls the umpire a “thief” and gets defaulted a whole game which cost her the match and on top a 17,000 fine. I’m sure if she did a lot worse she’d probably be suspended from grand slams tourneys for at least a year.

matthew09 I mean the problem was not the thief, the problem was her verbally berating a ref after two code violations. The coaching one was a bit harsh but her coach did admit to coaching which is a code violation, and I have seen people break rackets and not get a code violation (ie Kyrios at the Aussie Open several times). However, in all instances she did break the rules and the punishment was just. She was right however that in mens tennis that probs never would have been called, and I dont think she ever saw the coaching her coach gave. In the long run probs would not have mattered anyways because Osaka was too good that night

Tennis is still a soft sport I guess but honestly punching people in the face spitting etc
And Serena almost gets the same punishment for being “verbal”
