Randomize if you are really going to select moderators, you shouldn't forget about the diversity of the group, meaning that we should have not only a diversity of groups in terms of friendships but also in terms of ethnic and gender diversity, for example.
Also, as we have many Spanish and Portuguese speakers playing the game, as they imigrated from the old versions of .es and .br, some mods (at least 1) should also be able to speak those languages even if they are not native. Some people from those old websites aren't well used to English and that would help them to integrate if that's what you are looking for (to keep players around).
For example Washed_Ravioli speaks Spanish and Heavenlee speaks Portuguese, but I'm sure there are many more around able to fit into those categories.
I totally agree with you that your idea is the best David2560, but is randomize willing to do it? So, at least our communities should have a better way to communicate with mods.
In a perfect world where randomize gives us a moderation panel it would help to have bilingual/multilingual mods in addition to having mods that are from the spanish and brazilian communities, that way not only are all the communities represented but there's more effective communication.
