As Night Two sets in, the coldness returns causing less movement within the arena for the night. As the sun rises on Day Three there is heard to be a loud voice echoing throughout the arena.
Gamemaker Nathan: CONGRATULATIONS TRIBUTES. You have made it to the final eleven. To give an incentive for battling it out today, one of the three buildings inside the hospital will collapse at twelve o'clock noon today. So the only for sure safety is within the cornucopia. May the odds be ever in your favor tributes! And, Happy Hunger Games.
DAY THREE
George is very awake since Gamemaker Nathan was so loud. George thinks to himself out loud.
George: Well I don't know if the other buildings have a basement, but if this is the only one wouldn't they stay away from it? I wonder if I can hide in the gift shop?
George gathers all his belongings and swiftly makes his way up the elevators into the food court. He bolts north towards the gift shop and takes cover behind the cash register. With nobody else in sight he feels safe enough to relax again.
Chris and Tokio were last seen entering the South Wing and with the announcement they discuss what to do.
Chris: We could try and go back to the cornucopia. I doubt if anyone tries to attack us there.
Tokio: I think with there being no weapons we are safest there. Let's go.
Chris and Tokio make their way down the elevators and into the cornucopia mouth. They stand guard as they eat a package of food and drink some water.
JR is seen to be gathering his supplies in his room on the 5th floor of the South Wing. He then takes the stair case at the end of the hall and descends to the 1st floor. There he waits on the inside of the staircase. It seems like JR thinks he can run down the hall faster than the crashing building can consume him.
Iz makes his way down the elevators of the South Wing and as soon as he steps off he sees Chris and Tokio guarding the cornucopia again.
Iz: Dammit!
Iz is seen to run across the food court but is caught in sight by Chris and Tokio. Tokio throws a knife into Iz's shoulder blade and he winces out in pain. Iz then tries to throw his spear into Tokio's heart, but she swiftly dodges the attack. Chris then throws a spear into Iz's back and Tokio tackles Iz to the ground. With another knife Tokio jabs it into Iz's heart and let's out a soft whisper to him before he dies.
Tokio: I'm sorry.
Iz's Cannon then booms out to the arena.
Drew gathers her belongings in the West Wing as the only tribute there and takes her belongings to the stair case where she quietly waits inside almost like JR is doing on the opposite Wing. She has a knife in hand ready for any attack. Unlike JR though, Drew is at the front of the wing closest to the cornucopia.
Blu and Red grab all of their belongings and take them down the elevators to the first floor of the doctor's office tower and wait in a small room beside the elevators.
Blu: If we hear anything above us we have to make a run back to the West Wing.
Red: I agree. We know that place best and it's closer and further from the cornucopia.
Blu: Just stay ready.
Orchid, Bert, and Riba are the last of the tributes to make their descent to the ground floor. Once in the waiting room of the first floor of the doctor's office tower they are heard to be discussing their plans.
Bert: If we hear anything above we have to run into the cornucopia prepared for a fight with the remaining careers. Chris is stronger and Tokio can throw knives, but we have weapons too. Don't hesitate to use them.
Riba: We just need to be careful. We can all make it out of this building if we are smart.
Orchid: We got this.
With noon creeping up the tributes all wait in anticipation at what's to happen. Just then a serious of cracking can be heard and the 5 tributes in the doctor's office tower begin to run out to safety. The trio of Orchid, Bert, and Riba are the first to enter the clearing and they catch the attention of Chris and Tokio. Chris quickly throws a spear at their direction but surprisingly misses all three targets. Riba throws a fake out to Tokio and as Tokio dodges Riba throws the real knife into Tokio's dodged position. Unable to counter the attack in time Tokio is impaled in the chest with the knife. Then like clockwork Chris takes a sword to Bert in defense. Orchid uses her spear to finish off Tokio in a fit of rage then turns to Chris as he is hacking away at Bert's clearly lifeless body. However, Riba yanks at Orchid that they need to run and they clear a path to the South Wing elevators instead of their original plan to go to the West Wing. Chris still entangled with murdering Bert's already dead body fails to notice Red and Blu darting across the cornucopia clearing to the West Wing. However just as Blu opens the door to the staircase a knife comes flying in his direction. Red screams and Blu is hit in the left arm. Red grabs Blu and they run to the end of the hall escaping Drew. Drew shouts in annoyance as she just lost her knife to the boy and begins running back to her hiding spot on the 8th floor of the West Wing.
With the ensuing chaos calming, 2 more cannons ring out signifying the deaths of Tokio from 2 and Bert from 10. This leaves just 8 tributes remaining.
NIGHT THREE
Chris can be seen sobbing silently in the cornucopia due to Tokio's death. George still in the Gift Shop wonders if there is a way to get back to his original hiding place in the South Wing basement. He knows Chris will see him unless he's sleeping. So George sets up to watch Chris all night.
Back on the 4th floor of the West Wing Red can be seen tending to Blu's wound.
Red: It doesn't look like it hit any major arteries. You should be okay, but some healing ointment would be nice.
Blu: What's that sound?
Just then, a sponsor gift can be heard to be ringing out quietly in the hallway. Red goes to investigate and sees the box on the ground labeled with the number 5. She takes it back inside and opens it to see a can of cream and a box of soup.
Red: Here let me put this on it.
Red applies some of the cream to Blu's wound as he quietly winces in pain. Then Red uses a piece of the bedsheet to wrap around the wound.
Blu: Thanks sis.
Red: We even got some soup. Here take the first gulp, but make sure it's not too hot.
Blu drinks some of the soup and hands the cup back to Red.
Blu: Your turn.
Red drinks some of the soup and they take turns passing it back and forth until the cup is bone dry. They then rest on the bed.
JR is seen to retreat to his hiding place in the South Wing before having a roll and some water. He rests in the bathroom of his room and tries to sleep.
Orchid and Riba are seen to take their elevator down to the 3rd floor basement. As they exit the elevator they feel a freezing cold hit their bodies. After taking the hall down to an operating room they enter it in hopes to find some warmth.
Riba: There! Blankets in that cabinet.
The girls grabs the blankets and find a dark corner to hide before cuddling up in the warmth.
Orchid: I'm really sorry about Bert.
Riba: Thanks. I wanted to thank you for helping me with Tokio. She was a fierce fighter.
Orchid: It was no problem. Her district partner helped kill Andy from home so I needed to do something to the careers to show them we aren't just a laughing stock.
Riba: Do you think we can beat Chris?
Orchid: Arrogance is the deadliest weapon the careers have. If we are smart in our attack one of us can make it out of here alive.
Riba: Do you know where Drew has been hiding?
Orchid: My guess is the West Wing. We haven't seen her this entire time and that's the only place she could logically be.
Riba: So about these bags of what looks like water. They are actually bags of chemotherapy treatment. Bert and I were thinking if we could somehow put them in the water supply it could take out a tribute or make them weak enough to kill off.
Orchid: That's really smart, but where would the water supply be?
Riba: The basement would be my first guess. And there wasn't a basement in the other building so we could try and find it here.
Riba and Orchid make their way through the basement floor in search of something to use to taint the water supply.
Orchid: This door says "Boiler Room" do you think that could be it?
Riba: Worth a shot
The girls enter the room and immediately notice tanks of water and heaters.
Riba: This one! It says "General Supply" so it likely links to the entire system.
Orchid: Where do we put it?
Riba: Here turn this knob and the tank should open at the top.
Orchid turns the knob as Riba takes the bags out of her pack.
Riba: It worked! Now I have 10 bags to use. I hope it's enough.
Riba pours all of the bags into the water supply. Then the girls decide to stay in this room near a heater as it seems to be warmer. They cuddle back up though because they are still cold and settle in for the night.
The Panem anthem plays followed by the portraits of the fallen for the day.
