Just finished up my 2nd week in college. Boy is this a shock. College is NOTHING like what you see on TV, nor is it ANYTHING like what people tell you it is. At least that is how I feel.
College is the place you are supposed to find yourself and where you find your lifelong friends? Not for me. It was the complete opposite for me.
For me, it was a place where I realized how alone I truly was. After taking away all the distractions in my life I was left to deal with who I really am. Not that there is anything wrong with me, but that I haven't always payed the closest attention to myself. It's now been 15 days since move in and I'm starting to look up for this semester. I am happy that I realized this because it has allowed me to focus on my mental health more than anything.
So wake up call kids, College isn't necessarily the best times of your life, but it for sure teaches you the most!

I felt this exact same way my freshman year and it was sooo crazy. I got super stressed, felt very alone, and suffered with depression mainly during my second semester. However after getting out, I was able to use the summer to go through self healing and now I am sooo happy this school year and feel so motivated. Bottom line is freshman year is gonna be a rough one for sure, but definitely use it to grow and heal, and the best way to do that is to have fun, accept love, and focus on yourself. I didn’t do that and it ended up biting me bad.
