For those of you who don't know or don't remember, during the summer I am employed at a daycare, working with school age children. I work with kids from kindergarten to incoming sixth graders. Last year we had the children play their own game of survivor with the same rules as normal survivor. Idols ARE in play, tribes and tribe swaps work just like survivor as well, and they DO vote each other out of the game. The children know that if it gets personal, the game is over. I was nervous for my group this year because we have a lot of kids that struggle with sportsmanship, however, we are down to the final 4 at this point so i'm comfortable posting the blogs now. This game was very fun, filled with blindesides and betrayals just like the normal survivor. All (or at leas most) commentary is from the day it happens as i've been keeping a running record since we started. The game started about 7 weeks or so ago. Last year it didn't last nearly as long and we actually played twice as well as a season of Big Brother. The only winner that currently attends the daycare is Oliver. Runners up include Liam and Ryan. Also it is important to note that Avery and Oliver are siblings. Avery lives with mom out of state during the school year and lives with dad for a few weeks during the summer. Also, Ellie and Gabe are twins. I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I did hosting it and my kids did playing it out! I'm excited to see who you guys root for :) If you want tagged, let me know! When I came in to work today, I was greeted by Oliver and Avery who told me that Oliver had found two idols and Avery found the other one. This means that the siblings who made it to the end of Big Brother together last year have control of all three immunity idols. Oliver told me he won’t be here Friday or Monday and that if his team loses he wants to play his idol no matter what. (LOL) My coworker told me they came in with a mission to find the idols and they did it. Kinda proud of their determination. We did have to tell the kids that they are not allowed to go on idol hunts anymore and that they may only find idols by coming across them because I guess they destroyed the classroom looking today.
Day 1 – Today we played musical chairs (without the chairs) where I played music for the kids and they had to sit down as fast as they could when the music was paused. Because one team only had four people here today, I had all the kids play the challenge, but only four people from each tribe “count” for the challenge.
For the first round, it came down to Peter and Randy where Randy pulled out the win, getting Immunity for tribe 2!
For the second round, it came down to Cody and Joe. Joe was alone for most of the game but survived down to the final two, but Cody ultimately won the challenge, sending tribe 3 to tribal!
The people here today were: Joe, Chase, Charlie and Callie.
After some quick discussion, the vote ended in a 3 to 1 vote for Ellie to be the first person eliminated from Daycare Survivor 3!
The other vote was for Charlie, however it came from himself because he was mad that the other three were voting Ellie.
