After he was VOTED OUT he had safety to the final 6. He was on the edge, so he was given game information (yes kelley didn't have to say it but still) that Lauren had the idol so he used that information to get lauren to play the idol. Without the jury information, he couldn't have done that.
Then he was HANDED the idol at the final 5, didn't have to find it or anything. It wasn't even a clue it was a literal idol like REALLY??
The one piece of safety he EARNED was the final 4 immunity which he gave up.
Yes it was a good move for him to battle with Rick but that was the only thing he did.
Gavin put himself into a position where he had ZERO votes the entire season and was never on anyone's radar to vote out. He made it to day 39 without a single vote and that is a feat that is rare. He played a great under the radar game and was ROBBED of his deserving win.
yeah but gavins final tribal performance was blatantly horrible. he did not know how to substantiate his game in any way, shape or form. chris played all the cards he was dealt this season perfectly, it is not his fault that CBS allowed someone to return to final 6 scenario and not his fault that they handed him an idol. he played from f6 onwards perfectly and outperformed two people at final tribal that had way more game to discuss.
