In my heart this is a 5 stars, in my head however there are some things that make it come up just short.
This film holds a special place in my heart. For the last 10 years i’ve seen every MCU film a few times each. At this point i am so involved in the characters and their stories so this film being the climax was obviously going to make me love it. My friends and i also went to the first showing opening day at 9 AM because we were so excited!
This film just had a different vibe to it. The stakes were high and with the 3 hour run time you knew you were in for some intensity.
However, while that 3 hour run time was sweet it still felt very cramped and rushed in many parts (Scott’s Return, CM finding Tony, the planet explorations, etc). I also was NOT a fan of killing Thanos within like 5 minutes. There were also a lot of inconsistencies and plot holes regarding the quantum realm.
Both major deaths in the film hit hard. The entire soul stone scene was incredible from the visuals to the acting ugh. So good.
Also that final battle was easily one of my favorite movie moments ever.
This film was 10 years worth of movies going out with a bang. Great stuff. I truly don’t know if i will ever feel this way about a movie again.
Side note: i hated hated hated hated fat Thor
