Stuber

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 41%

My Score (out of 5): ***

This movie was just stupid fun. Going into this expecting anything else was totally your own fault. This movie was just harmless, goofy, buddy cop fun with a twist. To its credit, I found it quite funny. Not really much else to say tbh, just a fine comedy film.

Biggest Positive:
It was actually funny so good job?

Biggest Negative:
Followed the buddy cop formula a lot

Did you see Stuber? What did you think?

Fighting With My Family

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 92%

My Score (out of 5): ***1/2

Growing up I was OBSESSED with WWE and I would watch it religiously up until about 3 years ago then I went to a more casual viewing (watching PPVs and watching highlights) so when I saw that a movie about WWE's Paige was coming out I was excited.

I don't know how this movie would translate to a non-wrestling fan, probably goofy, but to me it was a really fun look into professional wrestling both at the lowest and highest levels. I really liked how they didn't try to make it out to be anything it wasn't. It knew its lane and it stayed in it. Florence Pugh was her usual awesome self, go figure.

I do have some problems with this film though. They really skipped over some important moments in Paige's career that to me are unskippable. Specifically being the first-ever NXT Women's Champion, wrestling on the first NXT TakeOver, being the youngest women's champion in WWE history, AND retiring just last year due to a career-ending neck injury (whole reason why they green lighted a movie on her). They basically just said "alright, you trained and wrestled with a match so welcome to prime time TV and here's a title shot!" Just bothered me, idk.

Biggest Positive:
Did not shy away from the realities of professional wrestling

Biggest Negative:
Completely ignored the biggest highlights of Paige's career. Kinda inexcusable in a movie....ABOUT HER CAREER
