Ohhh well you should've put ()s around the first numbers to make it more clear.. like this:
(6÷2)(1+2)=9

Cuz if you write it this way:
6÷2(1+2)
Then the answer would be 1, because you do:
6÷2(1+2)
6÷2(3)
6÷6
1

It actually is still 9 Etienne, because when you have both multiplication and division you go from left to right.

ITs BOMDAS, do your brackets first which is 3, then 6 divided by 2 is 3 then multiply the two numbers together as when a number is next to a bracket you multiply!! Back of the class Etienne :P

but i thought the bracket was multiplying with the 2 before you touched the 6

You only do the terms that are inside the bracket. Don't multiply something that's outside of the parentheses until you've done whatever multiplication and division is to the left of it.
