well if pinocchio felt that it was a lie then it would grow, and if he felt that it was the truth then it wouldn't.  So in that situation the rules would be reversed

actually now that i think about it that statement is subjective enough to be considered the truth, if pinocchio will lie in the future then he's telling the truth, and therefore he really is "about" to lie
