Hello Artists. Congrats on making it to the next round. This week's challenge is my favorite theme : The Most Political. The contestants submitted a the song that has a political message or one that can interpreted as such. It doesn't have to be their best song, just the one that is innately them. The song does not have to be outright political. It can have political undertones. You can share what makes your song political if you like. We will be judging four things. The music, the lyrics, the message, and the impact.
The following artists are safe.
Taylor Swift and Jeremy Zucker
This week I will on critique the top 6. Illenium, Rihanna, Chloe x Halle , Katy Perry, Marina , and Dua Lipa you six represent the tops and bottoms for this week.
" Hard to Say Goodbye" by Ekali and Illenium ( 3pi14159 )
+I love the song. The vocals are amazing and so is the beat.
-I love the song, but this song completely missed the theme. The second half of the song gave me mall music.
"American Oxygen" by Rihanna ( RedFabFoxy )
+This is my first time hearing this song and I think it's amazing. The lyrics are impactful, the vocals are perfect, the emotion is right, etc. All this together really gets the message across. I love the title of the song and the social commentary she delivers. Solid pick. Perfect for the theme.
"Chained to the Rythm" by Katy Perry - ( Pauladeen )
+This is my favorite Katy Perry song. I love her voice in this song. The message is pretty evident. She's calling us sheeple. We all live these monotonous lives just working and getting by. I like the sad kinda morbid feel to the song. I LOVE this song. I have nothing bad to say about it.
"Baby Girl" by Chloe x Halle - ( turkeylover )
+I love the song and the vocals.
-The song itself was a bit too slow for me. The second half of the song is a lot stronger than the first. It almost feels like two different songs.
"Boys will Be Boys" by Dua Lipa - ( XalbeertooX )
+I love her voice here. The message is clear. She's calling out all the people who give men passes but also blaming the people who raise these boys.
-I was a little bored with this song. It was a little bit tamed.
"Savages" by Marina - Marina ( Irelia )
+Her voice is so unique. "I'm not afraid of God. I'm afraid of men" is so powerful. People are truly disgusting, crazy, selfish beings. She also touches on how men hide or justify murder with religion. Some of her vocals were giving me gospel. She's very smart. I love that she delivers this message with a pop song. Solid pick.
-Nothing negative to say.
Now, on to our top 3. Our top 2 artist this week are Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Marina . And the winner for the Most Iconic is... Rihanna !!
This mean the the remaining 3 artists are in the bottom. However, I have an announcement. From now on there will be no redemption. The two bottom artists will automatically face a public vote. This week the bottom consists of...
Dua Lipa and Illenium
That means Chloe X Halle you are safe. I will post the elimination blog shortly.
Omg YAY 😍 I’m so happy Riri got the top, especially with strong picks like Katy and Marina (btw you tagged me for Katy and as much as I love that song, I aint Katy xx)
