The #1 ShondaLand male character! Sorry, women are better. When Mark first came i was thinking "this guy's an asshole, how could he do that to his friend" and like i still like think its a dick move, but i love Mark. He came off as egotistical, dumb, douchey guy at first, but as the show progressed his character grew so much. Him and Callie's friendship is one of my favorite friendships of the whole show. They started out having sex and then they became really great friends and were always there for eachother. Mark was there for Callie during her realization of being gay, he was very helpful. Like yeah, he's a whore, but he has a good heart. It was so cute when he tried going out with Teddy and he wanted a legit relationship, but she just wanted sex. And obviously him and Lexie were perfect together. They kept fighting and breaking up and it sucks that they both died without fully being together but as she was dying they discussed how their life would be if they survived, and they'd be together. Even when Mark was dying his girlfriend said she loved him and he said, "I love Lexie". On top of relationships, Mark was an adorable father. I remember when Addison talked about her abortion of Mark's baby and she told him that he would make a terrible father, but he made an amazing one. That's why it makes sense to me why they had to kill him off because if he just left, it would have made him an asshole just leaving his kid. So as much as i loved him and didn't want him to, him dying would have been more pleasant for me than him abandoning his child and being the bad guy. Ugh but his death made me bawl, they gave us false hope that he'd survive and it was one of the saddest moments for me throughout the entire series.
