I have never seen an underdog in Survivor quite like Tessa. She was on the outs from DAY ONE and keep in mind Australian Survivor starts with 24 people. I really don't know why people didn't like her, but the "cool kids" alliance just did not want Tessa in the game. Luckily, Tarzan gave Tessa his idol and got taken out for it in probably the most heroic move in Survivor history. From there, Tessa started wiggling her way into alliances and started making friendships.
She finally got revenge on her game rival Tara (unfortunately Tara returned in a twist), but Tessa really started playing the game when the merge game. She helped Henry, but then people thought Tessa was just too big of a threat and she got taken out in a random as 3-2-2-2 split vote I was so emotional. I remember watching with my friends and I have not rooted for most people like I was rooting for Tessa. And to make things worse, she then got voted OUT of the jury at the end of the game and didn't get to cast a vote against her rival in finals. Seriously the biggest victim ever. She had a rough road and I wish she was on All Stars, but I can't blame her for declining.
