I’ve always said I’d make a Top 50 Stars Players Ever list, based on metrics that emphasize the ability to perform well under varying circumstances, remaining consistent despite perceivable obstacles, and achieving incredible, rare milestones.
This has and always will be a largely subjective matter based on an individual’s personal understanding of what “doing well” in Stars means. So many questions. How much should one Stars game weigh, how do you compare people who’ve played few games vs. many, how do you account for multi era, recency bias, etc. Etc.??
Taking into account all the potential statistics and intangibles is difficult in your own mental bubble and I want others’ input to some degree.
Hence, I’ve decided I want to host a polling game where Tengagers can have their own input on who demonstrates the best Stars record. After all, anecdotal evidence is definitely something to consider when we’ve all played with at least some of these people!
The game will consist of 128 of the best Stars players ever, and they will face off in tournament format to differentiate between the good, the better, the best, and the absolute legends. The public will vote on who they believe has the better statistics, all factors and intangibles considered.
In the end, I will ultimately make my Top 50 the way I make it, but other people’s opinions will have weight on some of my decisions. While there are 30 or so definite, solid cases for Best Ever, there are a hundred who could fall into the last 20 spots based on what factors are augmented or diminished in your metric for Best Ever.
sadly no one touches Justme tbh. literally made finals with so many of her close friends/family and one of like 5/6 women on this site that actually play the game instead of using popularity/looks to just survive polls. she's the blueprint of how to be a good stars player. the rest can't keep up!
some years ago I might have made this list with all the times I came 4th and my 2 finals appearances and such, but every time I've tried to play since I stopped being active on the site and ran into walls of people not knowing me, tanked my average waayyyyyyy down lol
This game will suffer from recency bias, as the more active recent winners with friends still around are going to beat more deserving but older winners who are no longer here.
