The Amazing Race game (Fast game — 8 minutes, 10 DCs). Edit: this could work as a fast game or variable length game too potentially, but with a relatively short maximum time limit per day. A long game version could also be implemented, similarly to Frookies/Rookies & Fasting/Casting
This is NOT a voting game, just as the real Amazing Race isn’t. 10 teams “race” towards the finish line each day by spamming — as a team — in order to be safe. Just like spamming to win HOH in rookies. The last two teams to finish, or those farthest from finishing after 8 minutes, go on the block.
On the block, in that next 8 minute time span, the teams will compete in a comp, and the team with the lower combined score is elimated at the end of the day. At that point, day 3 comes along, and the process repeats; in that the fastest teams to reach the spam algorithm finish line are safe on day 3, and the two lowest must compete in a comp to remain safe.
Don’t let the word “spam finish line” deter you. This would work very similarly to spamming for HOH in frookies, and getting checks in casting. However you must reach a certain quota.
Plussing/negging your opponents will be an important aspect to hitting the finish line. Once you hit the finish line, you no longer have to spam, and SAFE will appear under your name at the minute.
At the final 2 teams, a combination of comp score and time to reach the algorithm’s finish line will be considered for algo to choose the winner.
Whether or not there’s a literal finish line shown on the screen that updates periodically would depend on how randomize would decide to set it up. It would be cool though I think. Of course, you wouldn’t be allowed to see other teams’ finish lines.
Color level requirement: Light Green
Choosing teams:
Teams should probably be randomly generated to avoid premade powerhouse teams.
————————Detours————————
Each day, there’s a detour comp that appears randomly. Both teammembers must complete the detour comp, but do so strategically! The first to complete it is at an advantage as it puts them closer to the finish line, but they will fall behind in the spamming department if they aren’t careful. Teams must find a balance between completing detours and spamming to reach the finish line fastest.
wannabeefriends what would you suggest instead of spamming for the finish line? I don’t think comps for everything would work. In fact I don’t think that’d work on frooks/fasting/rookies because if there weren’t “spamming” (talking) in public chat, the only people who will want to play are the people who are any good at comps.
I like the idea but idk about spamming. I think maybe blind roadblocks and detours would be cool. Like for example if it's a detour leg, teams have to click to play challenge A, B or C, but they don't know which challenge it will be.
Then on a roadblock one, there would be two challenges, and each teammate could only play one. So you see the first one is deal and you decide which one of you plays that, and then the other one who didn't play deal will have to play the second one, which you don't even see which challenge it is until player one finishes theirs.
Or just have have everyone play the same challenge every round, and the scores are averaged by team. That could be interesting, cuz like, could two decent people total outscore a team with one amazing player and one crappy?
cheritaisdelicious those are great ideas! Perhaps with that the need to spam to reach a finish line wouldn’t be necessary. But I know Randomize emphasizes the social aspect of the site heavily hence why all games are influenced by it
