My opinion on design/shop rules

4thJul 18, 2018 by KrisStory
New rules I'd support:

1. All designs posted in the past become public domain in the sense that no one has to receive permission to post them. (read rule #2 before you freak out)

Reasoning:
If an individual left the site, do you really believe that they care about their copyright to t-designs? Since so many people have left the site, and so many people have already used designs illegally, it’s impossible to determine who made what without formal proof. This change would solve the ridiculous issue of shops game and "reset" designs. After all, people who have left the site without giving away permission for their designs probably aren't going to bat an eyelid at their t-designs being used for public domain.

2. Designers who can prove that designs of the past are theirs can claim them and continue to require permission for them from shop owners.

Reasoning:
Those designers who have stuck around or have given their permission requesting rights to another user can still require permission by proving that designs are theirs. Since those people who left don’t care, there’s no need to satisfy their desire for exclusivity of their designs. Those who have stuck around, it’s a different story.

The designers who have stuck around can simply message admin and tell them that they want their designs to require permission to be posted.

3. All new designs created after the previous rules have been implemented can require permission from individuals that want to use their design IF they formally document that they want their designs to require permission to be posted.

Reasoning:
Since the shop games pretty much needs to be reset, as well as design labs, completely changing the system to implement a more formal ownership and usage request process would help tremendously. This could be easily managed in a group game where people post png’s and claim them if they created them. All people who want to play shop games must follow the group and get the png’s with only the permission of the owners.

I feel like this would fix a lot of issues rn. It would need tweaks, time, and patience but I think it would help admin

New rules I'd support:

1. stop giving a fuck about designs we were doing fine without design rules

bengalboy yeah I think so too but its obviously an important aspect of the site to a large chunk of the t-community, so its something that has to be dealt with. I obviously believe the cheating is more important than fake copyright laws, but to each his own.

LOL yeah admin is definitely gonna get a ton of complaints from designers
personally the only rules i want enforced are banning cheaters/hackers, the blogs and shops can be a free for all for all i give a fk but i'm biased in that sense
Sent by BengalBoy,Jul 18, 2018
bengalboy yeah as long as rules in games could be enforced, i think the site would be fine lol. That's the main point of the whole website anyways.

Remember when Randomize failed you to appoint you as a mod even though you made the most sense when blogging about how to improve the site?

Also, it's a piece of cake to determine who designed what. You just gotta be knowledgeable enough to know where to look to find out.

Krisstory it's not just fake copyright rules. Technically it's illegal to use anyone's artwork without their permissions, so you technically can be sued. Obviosuly this won't happen because Tengaged is a small website and the designers here probablt won't go around suing other tengagers IRL over designs BUT Randomize is still obliged to follow the law.

I like rule one, but honestly I think that the moment a designer shares the design with another user, they should no longer have rules associated with that design... it's too complicated to consistently track and it takes focus away from more important things about this site (cheating, multis, hacking, etc.).

An alternate would be to somehow code a design program into tengaged and a designer can share their work with others as well as remove access. Just a thought

These are just excuses for people to post other people’s work in their multigift shops without permission
We gonna be fine without this

There should be a collage showing what each designer made so it's easy to give credit to designers and/or get permissions from the designer you're looking for ... the phrase "credit to designer" shouldn't be allowed either, even if the designer is inact, they deserve the proper credit!
Sent by Paige54,Jul 18, 2018
estee but its kinda obsolete when no one is making irl money from the designs they make. Thus, they aren't losing money when people "steal" their designs and it wouldn't even make it to small claims court lol

paige54 Oh yeah there is the collage! and there can always be a rule to credit the designer even if they're offline. However, individuals just wouldn't have to ask for permission to post said items.

cutieamy you're right

brosky17 that would have to be done by randomize and I doubt he'd do that considering he hates the design and shops portion of this website for what it turned into lol. I agree with you though, that would be the best option.
