So I saw Call Me By Your Name

I didn't know anything about the movie/book before seeing the movie (other than it was about two men who fall in love).

I was nervous to watch it, considering we saw a coming of age story from a gay males perspective last year (Moonlight)...I thought this movie would be pretty much the same thing, but with a white lead instead lol.

I was pleasantly surprised that the movie was about far more than just a closeted male coming of age. With that being said, I thought there were definitely a lot of unnecessary scenes that dragged on a little...but overall I thought it was really good. The first half of the story, although still important to the story, was definitely a lot slower than the last half. I'd say the last 30 minutes were brilliant. The dad's speech about the importance and greatness of a first love was extremely touching and well performed. And the last scene of Elio was genius. The Sufjan Stevens song in the background was absolutely incredible!

This movie was great, but was just short of my 'top 10 movies of 2017' list, as for me, the rewatchability is semi-low considering half the movie was a bit slow lol.

I'd still recommend it for someone who hasn't seen it yet!

Tyleror tbh that last scene made the movie 1000000x better. I respect the movie so much, as it's a coming of age story that I might not necessarily be able to relate to as much as other coming of age stories (i.e. Boyhood).

I could watch Boyhood over and over. Call Me By Your Name was great, but the rewatchability is fairly low for me. The acting and script of the movie were phenomenal tho
