It's legit 17 are you all drunk
The snowflake has to be 10
Meaning the candy cane has to be five cuz 10+5+5 is 20
Meaning the wine glass needs to be 2
10+5+2 is 17
Snowflakes are 10, as seen in the first pic.
#2 - 10 + 2C = 20, 2C = 10, C = 5. Candy canes are 5.
#3 - 5 + 2W = 9, 2W = 4, W = 2. Two wine glasses are 2.
#4 - 5 + (1/2)W x 10 = 5 + 1 x 10 = 15
It's 15 temponeptune
There are four wine glasses on the equation, so the 4 it needs to be 9, is divided between the 4, to know how much a single wine glass is worth (in this case: 1)
The last one is a multiplicaction not a sum, so it is
5 + 1 x 10, which is equal to 15
Snowflake = 10
Candy Cane = 5
Each Separate Wine Glass = 1
~The trick is your eyes are used to seeing all the addition problems and then you don't notice that the final sign is not an addition sign but instead a multiplication sign.
~The second trick is that the Wine Glass in the bottom row is by itself. The example Wine Glass had two of them together, counting as two. The actual problem only has one though, which counts as one.
~The final trick is PEMDAS (Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally) or in other words; Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction (Order Of Operations). Since the problem is doing "___ + ___ * ___ = ???" you have to multiply the Wine Glass with the Snowflake first, then add in the Candy Cane second.
So to this is essentially:
5 + 1 * 10
Due to the Order Of Operations, you do 1 * 10 first which is 10.
Then you add the 10 to the 5 and you get 15.
