i think it reinforces an idea that homosexuality is like so scandalous and new. i dont think you should have to come out, i think its unnecessary, if ur asked just tell the truth its not hard, it never needs to be made into a big deal, no shade to the people who have recently came out or anything but like... who cares why is it such a big deal just be yourself
I think it’s like lifting a weight off your shoulders but I do agree that nobody should have to “come out” or bring attention to their sexuality. Society has really painted homosexuality negatively like you said
I agree, I don’t think in the year 2021 coming out should be such a thing, but sadly upbringing in some societies has forced coming out to be a thing still because some people can’t give a simple truthful response to the question at first.
While i agree with this blog to a certain extent, its kind of selfish to think every single reality is the same. Society is so complex and people struggle with different things when it comes to their social position. Maybe in 100 years, and im being generous, coming out will stop being a thing.
I do agree to some extent but it's important to remember that being LGBTQ+ is still a very touchy subject for many cultures and religions. Not everyone is in the same position where they can just come home with a same-sex partner one day and introduce them to their parents as that - a lot of people still have to battle shame and scrutiny from family and friends (and the public depending on where they're located) so "coming out" makes sense
But I do agree it's very unfortunate that people still have to come out in 2021. it should be normalized by now

well society doesnt work like that unfortunately. it should be as youre saying but it really isnt. blaming the ones who come out is stupid, we should be blaming the nonsensical schemas of society
