idk im tired of this shaming people for not voting mentality, in america we live in a political system where your individual vote has zero weight. 9 times out of 10 your state will go a certain way and it wont even matter. if you live in like florida or ohio i mean yeah go out and vote but like idk, personally i am going out and voting BUT i do it knowing my state will turn red no matter what. our election system is flawed not people being too lazy to go out and vote
So many states are flipping. Even TEXAS night which would be historical cause people are fed up and voting. It feels pointless but every vote matters. I recall some local election a couple years ago was decided by TWO votes
Tbh its about the principle of voting. Even if you're not in a swing state there are plenty of places that aren't fortunate enough to be able to vote, we should take advantage of our opportunities
Theres the bystander effect tho, if one person has that belief that they don't matter and they shouldn't vote, hundreds, thousands are having that same belief. However, those thousands of votes DO matter and people should vote because they shouldn't assume someone else is going to do it for them. Also, some people haven't always had the right to vote and had to fight for a long time to get it so it's a sign of respect for them, IMO. Glad youre voting tho !
I come from a very red state as well, so I understand your frustration. But, you should always vote. Nothing made me happier, than in 2008 when my state went blue for the first time since 1964...and Obama won by 1%...1% isn't very many votes in my state, so yes...voting matters even though it may not seem like it
