X stands up in front of a group of people, some being his old team and ally’s, some being new - “Team, it is almost time to attack the Protectors. As you can tell, we have new people here with us today.”
Moontwist - “I assume they’ll be able to help fix our ship, as you’ve shown no motivation to help with that yet thus far.”
The Reaper - “Don't worry about that. We will fix your ship.”
Princess Maliyah - “You better or else daddy will be real mad.”
The Reaper - “Who’s daddy?”
Magnus - “Ignore that, it’s something she says.”
X - “Anyways... X Team. Universals. We have a new group joining us today. The Street Walkers. And we also have a few new recruits outside of that team, but… Street Walkers, introduce yourselves.”
Hurricane - “I’m Hurricane. Also here, we have Hydra, Gia Versace, Eros and Kano.”
Gia Versace - “We’re happy to join The X Team.”
X - “And… our other recruits?”
Dark Shadow - “I’m Dark Shadow.”
Poison Whisper - “I’m Poison Whisper and this is my daughter Spine Striker.”
X - “And?”
Poison Whisper - “Ugh, I didn’t want to say this out loud, but… Europa is my son. I want to destroy The Protectors. They have tainted his mind.”
Spine Striker - “We will do whatever it takes to destroy them.”
Poison Kisses - “Cute origin story.”
Actus Mortis - “As much as I love this getting to know the team exercise…. It seems as though we have the numbers. We could just officially put our plan into action.”
*Jade throws her knife at the wall, shattering a picture frame, drawing everyone’s attention*
Jade - “We could just do it now. Storm the place. Fight them all right then and there. Fight them all… to the death.”
Hydra - “I like the way you think.”
Jade - “Thanks.”
X - “We can’t go in without a plan.”
*PyroBolt remains mostly silent*
Jade - “I just gave you a plan.”
X - “Yeah, to go in without a plan.”
Jade - “No. Kill all of the people who hurt us. We deserve revenge and NOW is the time to do it.”
*SILENCE*
Jade scoffs - “Whatever.” *sits down, annoyed* “If we don’t take the shot now, I wonder what your next excuse will be.”
*Everyone slightly glares at X, The Reaper smirks*
[THE PROTECTORS : RISE OF X.]
*OUTSIDE THE APARTMENT BUILDING*
*Jade walks down the street, angered, as The Reaper quickly runs up to her*
The Reaper - “Hey. You seemed to be a bit upset with X in there.”
Jade - “I think he’s dragging on this attack. Unnecessarily so. I was a member of The Protectors. I know how they work. They aren’t dumb. They will catch on, and they will be prepared for us.”
The Reaper - “Which is my point exactly. Why would we want that child to still be leading us? He will continue to lead us in the wrong direction, and prevent us from getting done what needs to be done.”
Jade - “What are you suggesting?
The Reaper - “We just have to… cut him out. Handle him.”
Jade - “Murder him?”
The Reaper - “Don’t make it sound so irrational.”
Jade - “I make it sound how it is. It’s murder.”
The Reaper - “Do you not want to be lead by someone competent?”
Jade - “I don’t murder anybody besides those who wrong me.”
The Reaper - “Think of it as our Caesar moment. We all… handle someone who is unfit to lead. For the greater good.”
Jade - “Listen. I know you’re trying to exploit the fact X pisses me off. Let’s get this straight, not twisted. I don’t give a shit. I just want to destroy The Protectors. I don’t give a shit if X is leading or not, and I’m certainly not going to waste my time killing him. Do whatever you want to do.. But I don’t care about X. If you want to murder him that is YOUR thing, and nothing you could say or do will change my mind.” *walks away*
*The Reaper grabs her arm, but Jade turns around and punches him in the face, headbutts him, and knees him in the groin. Jade proceeds to turn around and walk away, as The Reaper leans over in pain*
*IN THE REAPER’S APARTMENT*
*The Universals and The Street Walkers sit at a table together*
Hydra - “I think we need to consider the real possibility that these people don’t have our best interests in mind.”
Princess Maliyah - “Do you think they’re not going to try and fix Moontwist’s ship?”
Gia Versace - “Maybe we’re just used to distrusting people, but I just feel as though… this is a trap of sorts. Like we’re the bait or the pawns.”
Magnus - “Well then what do you suggest we do?”
*Dark Shadow, Poison Whisper and Spine Striker walk over, causing everyone at the table to turn their heads at them*
Poison Whisper - “It’s obvious.”
Eros - “What?”
Poison Whisper - “We have to attack The Protectors.. but create our own plan. The X Team will always put each other first, and if any of them are at risk they will throw us under the bus. It’s time to get crafty and make sure we don’t get played.”
Moontwist - “The problem is we only joined because we need our ship to be fixed. If we go through with this plan we’d need to change this arrangement.”
Magnus - “Moontwist doesn’t speak for me. I’m in regardless.”
*Moontwist turns his head at Magnus, annoyed*
Magnus - “Sorry not sorry, Moontwist.”
Hurricane - “I have people who will help with your ship regardless.”
Moontwist - “Thanks. I’m in, then.”
Gia Versace - “So… this is a new team, then?”
Hydra - “More of an alliance.”
Magnus - “Let’s create a team name.”
Hydra - “ALLIANCE name.”
Poison Whisper - “The New Recruits.”
Magnus - “I can dig it.”
Princess Maliyah - “I just want to go home.”
Darkadia - “We’ll get you back, don’t worry.”
*Princess Maliyah wipes a tear away and nods*
*Everyone looks at one another, with a smile*
Dark Shadow - “So… what’s our game plan?”
Poison Whisper - “I think it’s easy… we stick together. We stick with The X Team, but the second someone seems sketchy, we turn on them and do what WE think is best.”
Gia Versace - “What if we have trust issues and think they’re all sketchy ass bitches already?”
Kano - “We just need to wait. They will show their true colors eventually. That is when we strike.”
*JADE’S APARTMENT*
*Jade walks in and jumps at the sight of Sonya Blade, sitting on a chair in the dark*
Jade - “WHAT THE HELL.” *closes the door behind her*
Sonya Blade - “I have been watching you.”
Jade - “And that’s creepy as hell.”
Sonya Blade - “You’ve formed a team with someone called Kano.”
Jade - “Um… the name sounds vaguely familiar, I guess? I don’t really know who I work with really. There’s so many.”
Sonya Blade - “Kano is up to no good.”
Jade - “Like, is he in a cult or something?”
Sonya Blade - “He is everything you could possibly fear in a being and more. He is a former X’er, you know.”
Jade - “What? No way. I’d know that.”
Sonya Blade - “It was when you were a child, I wouldn’t expect you to know.”
Jade - “What happened?”
Sonya Blade - “He backstabbed the X’ers.”
Jade - “How do you know? You hate the X’ers.”
Sonya Blade - “I hate the values they represent. The hateful energy. I know you’re not a hateful person, Jade. Open your eyes.”
Jade - “The Protectors killed my best friend ever, and they will never get away with it. Now… tell me what you know about Kano. Because if I’m going to move forward with him, I’d like to know everything there is to know.”
Sonya Blade - “Okay…this was quite a few years ago. 10… maybe 15. I was younger. It was before I started at the forces… but the story transcended and was passed down through the years.”
*15 YEARS AGO*
*THE X’ERS BUILDING*
*Kano sits inside, with a variety of other X’ers, including X Caliber. There’s stomping outside*
*X Caliber walks over to the window*
X Caliber - “Huh… a crowd of Protectors are forming out there.”
Kano, evilly smirks - “I know.”
*X Caliber turns his head, shocked, as Kano stands up*
X Caliber - “Kano, what are you doing?”
*Kano shuts his eyes and when he opens them, he looks at many of his teammates and starts burning lasers into their skulls one at a time, killing them all one by one*
X Caliber - “STOP!” *he shoots an energy blast out of his arm to knock Kano down, and quickly runs into his office*
*PRESENT DAY, JADE’S APARTMENT*
Sonya Blade - “To this day, there’s no real motive behind his massacre. Killing every X’er in the building at the time. Besides X Caliber.”
Jade - “How could we not know about that?”
Sonya Blade - “Did you know X Caliber and Percy, the old leader of The Protectors, had more connections than they lead us to believe?”
*Jade shakes her head slightly*
Sonya Blade - “Most people don’t. There’s a lot you guys aren’t told.”
Jade - “What do you mean?”
Sonya Blade - “Being in the Special Forces has given me more insight on our societal status.”
Jade - “Spit it out.”
Sonya Blade - “X Caliber and Percy were foster brothers of sorts.”
Jade - “Don't even continue... that makes X Percy’s nephew, in a way.” *sits down, rubbing her head*
Sonya Blade - “It’s said X Caliber went to Percy after the massacre. It’s unsure what went down after that, but… Percy agreed to wipe the memories of every other X’er, after they refused to go back after. They were too scared. He wiped much of The Protectors memories as well. He cared for X Caliber way more than he lead on. Even if in the end… it ended the way it did.”
Jade - “Does no one else know about this shit? Only Special Forces?”
Sonya Blade - “It’s extremely possible the families of the victims of the massacre got their memories wiped and don’t even remember that their loved ones ever existed. The Secret Forces have ways to fight against powers being used against us. We are… cursed with knowledge in a sense.”
Jade - “So… Kano is infiltrating the X Team now… knowing we have a connection to The X’ers, the people he did a massacre against… why?”
Sonya Blade - “No clue.”
Jade - “Did he join The Protectors after doing it 15 years ago?”
Sonya Blade - “That was probably his plan, but he was thrown out and abandoned. But he didn’t suffer for long. He’s been noted to join teams, and not too long after turn on them. Either by murder or by some type of manipulation. I want to take him down and make sure nobody else falls victim to him. You could be who ends this once and for all.”
*Jade exhales*
Jade - “I know it’d be for the best. But I want my revenge now.”
Sonya Blade - “If you don’t handle Kano first… he could prevent you from getting your revenge.”
Jade - “What do you want to do about it, Sonya?”
*PAUSE*
Sonya Blade exhales - “I want to kill him.”
*ANOTHER PAUSE, JADE VISIBLY SHOCKED*
Jade - “Seriously?!”
Sonya Blade nods - “It’s… dark, but… sometimes it must be done.”
Jade - “Ms. lawful good hero lady is planning an assassination?”
Sonya Blade - “He’s going to kill so many people to get what he wants in the end.”
Jade - “You sound… ridiculous.”
Sonya Blade - “But I’m right.”
Jade - “I just want to kill the woman who killed my best friend. I don’t care about your beef with Kano. I don’t even know who Kano is.”
Sonya Blade - “Are you going to pretend I said nothing? That there is no reason to fear him?”
Jade - “I’m not going to ignore what you said. I’m just not… ENTIRELY concerned about it.”
Sonya Blade - “You should be. This is going to come back to haunt you.”
Jade - “I’ll take that chance. You have your targets. I have mine.”
*THE PROTECTORS OFFICE*
*Marjorey sits alone at her desk, Alexa Rose walks over to her*
Alexa Rose - “What are you thinking about?”
Marjorey - “Jade.”
*Eden and Tlaloc walk over, hearing what Marjorey said*
Eden - “We were there, Marjorey. You did everything right. You saw what they were about to do, and you took action.”
Marjorey - “I’m not second guessing that. I’m scared, though. X Caliber wasn’t the only person murdered that day. X isn’t the only person seeking revenge. I need to watch my back.”
Tlaloc - “Everyone does. And you know what? You’re protected. We all have your back. We won’t let Jade get to you.”
Marjorey - “I’m used to living in fear. But I was used to seeing fear coming. This is a new fear. Having to hide all day, and sleep with one eye open at night.”
Eden - “Do you want me and Tlaloc to sleep over? We can protect you.”
Marjorey - “Really? You’d do that?”
Tlaloc - “Of course. We’re a team.”
*Marjorey hugs Eden and Tlaloc*
*THE HERNANDEZ APARTMENT*
*Neuron, The Green Witch, Maximum and Jessica sit at a table*
Neuron - “I’ve missed you, Madison.”
The Green Witch - “I’m The Green Witch. You’ll refer to me as The Green Witch.”
Neuron - “Okay, sorry. But… hey. It’s been a while.”
The Green Witch - “Are you going to come up with some excuse for how we left things?”
Neuron - “No. Let me talk. Dark Storm came to The Protectors. He’s a Protector now. He told me how you two were a team for a bit. And he told me where to find you.”
The Green Witch - “Isn't that something. You trust him?”
Neuron - “Yeah.”
The Green Witch - “Don’t. He’s only got eyes for himself.”
Neuron - “Well, he told me where to find you, so… I guess I can trust him to a certain degree.”
The Green Witch - “I hate to tell you this, but I’m happy here. I’ve been living my best life, and I’m not leaving with you.”
Neuron - “I just wanted to talk.”
The Green Witch - “You did a good job wasting our time, then.”
Neuron - “Are you still mad I didn’t let you kill The Reaper.”
Maximum - “The Reaper?”
*Neuron and The Green Witch stare at Maximum*
Maximum - “He… is a monster.”
The Green Witch - “You know him?”
Jessica - “Better than anybody.”
Maximum - “When we were just babies… us and our younger brother were abandoned by our parents. A couple discovered us, found out we were different and took us. They seemed nice enough. We followed them into their car.”
*10 YEARS AGO*
*Children Maximum, Jessica and their brother George are in a car, driving far away*
Jessica - “Where are we going, mama?”
Mother - “We’re almost there. Don’t worry.”
Jessica, Narrating - “They took us to do experiments. On us.”
//
*IN A CAGE*
*Jessica, Maximum and George look around, terrified to see children starving and sweating around them*
Jessica - “This is horrible.”
//
*George has his head cut open on a table, as the mother examines his brain*
Jessica, Voiceover - “Our brother died… which is how The Reaper comes into the equation. He was a few years older than us. So he was one of their prized examples.”
*The Reaper holds George and George opens his eyes, no color to them. But he can’t communicate or move whatsoever he’s only breathing again*
Mother - “You’re getting weaker.”
The Reaper - “It’s exhausting, all you do is have me bring people back.”
Jessica, Voiceover - “Besides us… The Reaper is the only one who made it out alive. Which is bullshit considering he can hardly use his powers anymore.”
//
*Mother walks into the basement but is quickly stopped by Jessica who stabs her in the neck with a scalpel. Jessica and Maximum run up the stairs to escape, being quickly stopped by The Reaper*
The Reaper - “Where do you think you’re going?”
*Maximum holds his hands up, and quickly The Reaper is hypnotized by him, and walks away, casually. Maximum and Jessica sprint out of the basement, and out of the house*
*PRESENT, IN THE APARTMENT*
Jessica - “It’s said they wanted to create an army of supers. And that’s why they took us in… but it was cruel what they did to us. They killed dozens of kids. Dozens might be underestimating how many were killed. Piles upon piles of bodies piling up in that basement. That dungeon. All drained of their powers. What used to make them special being what imprisons them and kills them. We were lucky to escape with our lives. But The Reaper saw it all… and chose to stand by it.”
The Green Witch, to Neuron - “And you let him live.”
Maximum - “She didn’t know, Madison.”
Neuron - “Madison is right. I knew enough. I shouldn’t have let him live. But now… it’s my chance to make up for it. We can kill him now. He’s still out there and I’m willing to bet I know where.”
*PAUSE*
Maximum - “Madison, I think we should do it.”
*The Green Witch scoffs, pausing. Before nodding*
The Green Witch - “This doesn’t mean we’re besties though.”
Neuron - “Didn’t think it did.”
The Green Witch - “And I'm not becoming a Protector. Just someone who wants revenge.”
Neuron - “Perfect.”
*The Green Witch glares at Neuron*
*THE PROTECTORS OFFICE*
*Neuron walks in with The Green Witch, Maximum and Jessica by her side*
Neuron - “These people all have been hurt by The Reaper before.”
*Dark Storm stands up, shocked to see their faces again*
Neuron - “They want in, and I think we need them.”
*The Green Witch slightly smiles*
Sensor - “Well... welcome to the team, then!”
*SONYA BLADE’S APARTMENT*
*Somya Blade walks in, when Red Viper approaches her*
Red Viper - “How did it go, partner?”
Sonya Blade - “Horribly. Jade is completely unmotivated and is driven by her want of revenge. We need to handle Kano a different way. If we want it done… we have to do it ourselves.”
Red Viper - “Shouldn't be a problem.”
Sonya Blade - “Don’t underestimate Kano’s power.”
*HURRICANE’S APARTMENT*
*Hydra walks in*
*Hurricane stands up and notices her*
Hurricane - “What?”
Hydra - “It's been 2 days. Did you get your sons?”
Hurricane - “About that...”
Hydra - “You didn’t.”
Hurricane - “Please, don't do something you’ll regret.”
*Hydra rolls her eyes and walks over to the door, but a heavy wind slams it shut when she starts to open it*
*Hydra turns around, scoffing*
Hurricane - “I will hurt you, Hydra.”
Hydra - “Wanna bet?”
*Hurricane takes his pocket knife out. Hydra quickly notices it, and makes eye contact with Hurricane*
Hydra - “You don’t want to do that.”
Hurricane - “You gave me no choice.”
*Hurricane runs at Hydra and as he goes to stab her, Hydra turns entirely metal, and when the knife jabs her, it just snaps in half, much to Hurricane’s shock*
Hydra - “I told you you didn’t want to do that.”
*Hydra is entirely made of metal now. She punches Hurricane in the face, with her metal fist, which sends him flying back, knocking him unconscious as blood spurs out of his head. Rain starts to pour down*
*Hydra looks over at his, seemingly lifeless, body and she turns back into her human form and walks out of the house*
*ON THE STREETS*
*Hydra is walking down the street, in the rain, when she hears something from nearby*
*Hydra turns around and looks around*
Hydra - “Hello?” *she turns around and notices Wyvern* “Shit.” *quickly turns to metal as Wyvern grabs her by the throat*
Wyvern - “You killed mama.” *his hand starts heating up*
Hydra, who is now metal - “It’s raining out, genius.” *punches him in the stomach* “Your fire games don’t work now.”
*Wyvern crouches down, in pain, before noticing Hydra run away, and he follows her closely behind*

Jade is so badass! She is definitely one of my favorite characters. I think all the mass murderers should die like Kano! Im kinda shocked The Green Witch is teamed up with The Protectors now. I wonder when will The Reaper kill X, it seems inevitable
