Rainbow Album Rankings

Sep 10, 2021 by Jaxon
imageRainbow is my FAVORITE Kesha album! She is such this beautiful mess that shouldn't, but works so beautifully put all together. I have 0 bad reviews (again) for any of these songs, and a low rank does NOT mean I dislike it... sometimes a great song shines more than another <3.

14th: Godzilla
This song is a really cute ballad, and I enjoy listening to her, but that is all she really is to me. It is a very stripped down, cute and funny song, and while it isn't the strongest on the album, I can totally see why it was included onto it. The pacing of the album really benefits from this slowed down song and helps wind you down for the end of the album. Great song, Jaxon approved.

13th: Spaceship
This song has grown on me over time, as I wasn't a huge fan of it when the album was first released. But we are in the now, and while it still isn't a top song for me, I do enjoy her and I think it has a deeper meaning than most Kesha songs, which I thoroughly enjoy. Four years ago, I would have said the album would have been better off, but now I enjoy her and think she is a wonderful way to end the album. Thanks Shrooms!

12th: Bastards
Honestly, when Rainbow was released my senior year of high school... I don't think I could think of a better way to start my day other than listening to this song on my drive to school. This song is #inspirational. We love a good meaning wrapped in a very Kesha way of saying it. This is another cute ballad to open the album, and I think she hits the tone perfectly to set you up for the journey you are about to enter.

11th: Praying
Robbed icon. I know. Praying is THAT bitch on Rainbow. I really do love this song, and I absolutely adore the meaning behind it and the pure emotion you can just feel glaring throughout the song. If somebody wasn't convinced yet, I think this is the song that proved Kesha as an artist and I am forever grateful for that. For me, I adore this song, and it is one of my favs... but this album is just beautiful all together.

10th: Learn To Let Go
This song really was high key robbed too- which I think speaks volumes about just how perfect this album is. This song is extremely inspirational to me, and I think it deserves all the credit in the world. This was another that grew on me over time, and I hold this song very near and dear to my heart these days. She is a timeless banger.

9th: Boogie Feet
A bop? A banger? A party anthem? Check to all of the above. Boogie Feet is just an extremely fun song to sing and listen along to. She definitely has some old school vibes, but also has her newer sound to this song. It's a great fun little bop that I still listen to regularly today.

8th: Old Flames (Can't Hold A Candle To You)
I do prefer this version to the solo Warrior version... and this was one of my favorites when the album was released. I LOVEE having Miss Dolly featured in the song, and I think the beat and vocals were really improved for this version. It's a beautiful love song and I love the fact that Keshas mom was one of the writers on this song, it makes it feel extremely full circle for the songs life. I think she was a great, underrated edition to the album.

7th: Woman
So, rumor has it that Kesha invented Feminism with this song?? Taylor Swift MOVE ALONG, Kesha doesn't need to be The Man because she is embracing her womanhood in full and living life to the fullest. But, yeah, this song is extremely fun for my gay ass to sing along with. Her vocals pop off entirely, and when she performs this song at a concert the dancing she does with it is high key really fun. The instruments are really fun, the lyrics are really fun, I think this is a defining song of hers tbh.

6th: Let 'Em Talk
I think this song is extremely underrated, yet it also just misses out on my top 5 *sighs*. Kesha doesn't know how to make a bad album, she really keeps on proving that. Anyways, I love love love the rock elements to this song. The lyrics pop off, and she really was the sleeper hit of the album for me. You can tell she is having fun with recording this song and it shows off her outstanding vocals, yet again. Kesha keeps on delivering.

5th: Hunt You Down
YODEL FOR ME QUEEN?? This song has slight country vibes to it, and I think it works out extremely well weirdly enough??? I highkey loved this song when the album was released. It's extremely fun and jokey, but not fully jokey because I get where she is coming from with these lyrics. Like yeah, I'll hunt you down bitch if you mess around... not really, but like really I will. Try me bitch. So good? Iconic. Deserves her spot in the top 5.

4th: Rainbow
This was my favorite song when this album was released. She literally hit immediately. This was the PERFECT title track and I will always stand by that. As time moved on, others raised above her, but she still holds her S+ tier status. She just narrowly misses out on the top three, because before writing this she WAS originally third, but I had to make that last minute edit, I did. I have nothing bad to say about this one.

3rd: Boots
Kesha dropped the & Boys and produced a second major banger about boots. I stan this song SO MUCH. She delivers the single most iconic line off the album in this song 'If You Can't Handle These Claws... You don't... Get. This. Kitty.' Like this deserves the top three, it's why I had to make the last minute edit, because the pure iconicness this song delivers... it's unmatched, it really is.

2nd: Finding You
This song is extremely personal to me?? This is one I was meh on, but now she ranks second overall??? It's kind of amazing. I think this is really just one of the most beautiful love songs I have ever heard, and I think Kesha really delivered on this one. I feel like I am going to be #contro with my take and having it so high, but this is my rank and I stan this song like no other. Kesha did #that.

1st: Hymn
If you know anything about me, you would know Hymn is my all time favorite Kesha song. Ever. So this being in #1 should be absolutely no surprise to anyone. It is hard to describe just how much I love and relate to this song, but this is another one we can thank Shrooms for me being so damn emotionally attached to?? She represents so many life views I also hold, and I really think she is just a standout of Keshas entire musical career. Underrated banger.

So there we go, this was by far the easiest album to rank so far... despite me loving all 14 songs on it. We love Rainbow. We also love High Road and will finalize this series with her.

boots woman and learn to let go are my top 3, also I love the meaning behind praying but the song itself is a bit of a drag

ManniBoi Duh <3

SomebodyAwesome I get it, but then I also think back to seeing her perform it live, and it is just an extremely powerful song. Like I really see both sides, and I adore her, but she isn't my favorite.
