As an Australian I really want to know whether Americans actually like their gun laws? Growing up in a country with VERY strict gun laws I cant even fathom living somewhere where anyone can just keep a gun in their pocket. Like, I would be scared to piss off strangers let alone people I actually know.
I understand the difficulty it would take to change the law sinces its imbedded into the constitution, but I honestly can't understand why people think they require the right to bare arms
Obviously there are a lot of Liberals vs. a lot of Conservations on this issue.
Gun laws have been and especially now, is a hot topic of debate in America.
The problem is the law is all based on a bill of rights written in 1789. Because of that people over the span of centuries have used the vague wording in order to interpret the rights to suit their own needs/wants. Which is why we had to fight to abolish slavery, to get equal voting rights for minorities and women, and most recently to allow same-sex couples to marry. It's a complicated issue sadly, but I personally am against guns.
